The WOOD Store’s Small-parts Tablesaw Sled Woodworking Plan is designed to hold and guide small stock for square tablesaw cuts. Its listing does not show the plan’s dimensions, materials list, or assembly sequence, so use the downloadable plan itself for those details rather than borrowing measurements from another sled. Before building or buying, check that the sled fits your saw’s miter slots and table and can travel safely through the cut.
What the WOOD Store plan covers
The WOOD Store describes the downloadable plan as a jig for holding small parts securely and guiding them square to the blade for clean, accurate cuts. The listing says it was featured in WOOD Issue 222 in November 2013 and was updated January 9, 2024. It does not expose the plan’s cut list, dimensions, or build steps in the listing text. Follow the plan for its specific materials and construction details.
Check your saw before choosing a sled
A sled must match the saw, not just the workpiece. Compare the runner or miter-slot fit, table clearance, and the full travel path before cutting materials or ordering a product. A separate plan from Woodgears uses centimeter dimensions and warns that alterations may be needed for a particular saw; that is a reason to verify fit, not a source of dimensions for the WOOD Store design.
- Miter slots: Measure the slot width and depth and confirm that the runners fit without binding or excessive side play.
- Table clearance: Check for obstructions and ensure the sled can sit flat and move through its intended travel.
- Travel and blade path: Plan where the blade enters and exits the sled. A safety stop can limit forward travel; Woodgears describes one that keeps the blade from emerging through the front of its sled.
- Workpiece capacity: Check the maximum thickness and width the sled can accept, and whether its restraint method suits the small parts you intend to cut.
Build or buy: compare fit and restraint
A downloadable plan lets you make a sled for your own saw and intended work, but you need to follow its instructions and confirm the design suits your setup. A ready-made jig offers stated fit and capacity limits, but those still need to match your saw and stock. The available descriptions do not provide controlled comparative testing of accuracy or safety, so they do not establish that one option performs better than another.

| WOOD Store downloadable plan | Intended to guide and support small parts for square cuts; featured in WOOD Issue 222 (November 2013); listing updated January 9, 2024. | Get the plan for its exact dimensions, materials, and assembly steps, then confirm fit on your saw. |
| Grizzly T33987 ready-made sled | The product page specifies 3/4-inch-wide by 3/8-inch-deep miter slots, at least 11-1/2 inches from blade arbor to rear table edge, maximum stock thickness of 1 inch, and maximum stock width of 5-1/2 inches. | Check those measurements against your saw and workpieces, and verify current product availability and specifications with Grizzly before purchase. |
These figures are the manufacturer’s listed fit and capacity specifications, not a guarantee that the sled suits every saw with nominally similar slots. The product page does not provide controlled comparative accuracy or safety-test results.

Other guides can illustrate hardware choices, but their parts and dimensions are not the bill of materials for the WOOD Store plan. Fulton’s 2020 guide calls itself general, says sled size and appearance can vary, and advises adapting the design to the saw and desired size. Its example hardware list includes two 12-inch mini tracks, two 19-inch UHMW bars measuring 3/4 by 3/8 inch, a 1/4-inch-20 star knob and bolt, screws, and CA glue. Treat that list as one possible hardware approach, not as a cut list for the named plan.

- Table Saw Sled Kit: You will receive 2 UHMW miter bars for table saw (17 in), 2 universal T-tracks (12 in), 1 star knob and bolt, 1 round washer, and 15 screws, fitting most standard table saw slots( Note: wooden sled not include).
- Well made: T-tracks are made of solid extruded aluminum and the table saw runners are made of UHMW linear polyethylene, durability, and smooth, surface burrs-free.
- Safe and Efficient: The crosscut sled for table saw aids in precise cutting, meeting various cutting needs, prevents measurement and cutting errors, and enhances safety and efficiency.
- Low Friction: UHMW miter bars for table saw are ideal for use as crosscut sled guide rails, and have low friction and stability without expansion or contraction due to environmental changes.
- Function: Table saw sled kit is perfect for crosscutting, repeat length cutting, and small cuts, stabilizing workpieces, included knobs and bolts can be used as simple stop blocks for consistent cuts without frequent adjustments to measure fence distance.
Safety details also vary by design. Woodgears describes a travel-limiting stop; Bob Penoyer’s plan page describes a blade guard and warns users to keep hands outside the sled and away from the blade. Do not assume either feature is included in the WOOD Store plan unless its instructions confirm it. Inspect the design you choose for guarding, workpiece restraint, and travel limits, and follow the saw manufacturer’s operating and safety guidance.
Quick Recap
Best Value
- PRECISION & STABILITY - If you own a table saw, you likely need to make smaller cuts or repetitive cuts. A crosscut sled for a table saw enhances precision and stability, ensuring accurate cuts. Our tablesaw sled can make small and cross cuts easier, assisting with consistent length cuts during your projects.
- ADJUSTABLE RAILS - Comes complete with a stop block and adjustable rails. The adjustable aluminum tracks fit most table saws with standard 3/4” x 3/8” miter slots. This table saw crosscut sled kit ensures precision, making small cuts not only effortless, but also safe. ❗ DOES NOT FIT RYOBI TABLE SAW SLOTS ❗
- COMPOSITE STOP BLOCK - The crosscut table saw sled kit features a composite stop block that won't damage the saw blade upon contact. It can be positioned on either side of the sled, making it perfect for achieving consistent cut lengths repeatedly. The sled measures approximately 18” long by 16” wide.
- CROSSCUT PANELS UP TO 13-1/2" WIDE - This cross cut sled for a table saw can handle both small pieces and panels up to 13-1/2" wide, delivering straight line crosscuts that miter saws can't achieve. It's the ideal crosscut sled kit for a variety of projects, providing a reliable mid-length crosscut solution.
- MEASURE YOUR SLOTS BEFORE ORDERING - Features adjustable aluminum tracks that fit most table saws with standard 3/4” x 3/8” miter slots. Please note that these tracks are incompatible with Ryobi and some other models. Measure your slots before ordering to ensure a proper fit for your table saw.
