Its 4 m by 4.20 m footprint supports three storeys and a reported 39 sq m of floor area. It is a compact building, not a towable caravan—and buying one involves site planning, foundations, utilities, transport and crane installation as well as the house itself.
What the DQ Tower is—and what “vertical tiny house” means
DQApartments markets the DQ Tower as a turnkey, three-storey “vertical tiny house,” suitable as a living, guest or vacation house. The term describes its form rather than a formal building classification: instead of spreading rooms across a wider footprint, the home stacks them over several levels. DQApartments’ product overview provides the manufacturer’s description; New Atlas’ July 2, 2025 report describes the pictured model and its layout.
New Atlas reports an overall height of 8.6 m. For context, that article describes a typical towable tiny house as commonly about 6 m long and 2.6 m wide; that is an editorial comparison, not a universal industry standard. The DQ Tower is delivered by truck and set in place with a crane, so its compact footprint should not be confused with towability.
How the three floors are arranged
The manufacturer lists two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a living area and a kitchen. New Atlas offers a floor-by-floor description of the example shown:

- First floor: living area and kitchen, plus a secondary bathroom.
- Second floor: a bedroom and the main bathroom. New Atlas notes that this room could also be used as an office or gym.
- Third floor: the master bedroom.
This is the reported example layout, not an independently verified architectural plan. The three-level arrangement is the central trade-off: it uses little ground area, but relies on internal stairs to connect its rooms. The available sources do not assess accessibility or establish how comfortable the layout will be for a particular household.
Construction and equipment
DQApartments describes the structure as steel and aluminum, with triple-glazed safety-glass windows. Its equipment list specifies one single bed, one double bed, a sofa bed, two bathrooms and a kitchen with a fridge, sink, extractor hood and stove. The manufacturer also lists three air-conditioning units for heating and cooling. New Atlas describes the pictured kitchen with an induction cooktop, small fridge and sink.
Check the written specification for a particular order rather than treating photographs as a standard inventory: the manufacturer says images may show paid options, decor and electrical appliances. The sources do not provide an independent assessment of structural performance, energy efficiency, lifetime cost or code compliance.
Price: the listed house cost is not the installed project budget
The manufacturer’s undated cost page, accessed October 5, 2026, lists a starting price of €150,000 excluding VAT, or €178,500 including VAT. It identifies several possible additional expenses:

- Advance planning, permitting and project oversight
- Foundations and utility connections
- Crane placement

- Transport and on-site assembly, charged individually according to distance and circumstances
Accordingly, the listed price is not a complete installed-project quote. Ask the manufacturer for a site-specific breakdown, including taxes and installation costs, before comparing it with another dwelling or construction option. See the official cost page for the listed price and exclusions.
What site preparation and installation involve
DQApartments’ project process page describes the DQ Tower as a building project requiring site-specific preparation. The manufacturer says buyers need planning and permit documents for the intended site, an official soil survey, foundations, and water, wastewater and electricity connections. The prefabricated unit is transported as one unit, placed by crane and assembled on site.
The manufacturer states on that process page that production takes at least eight months after a binding order. Its product overview describes production as no more than eight months, so the two official pages do not give a consistent lead-time range. Treat eight months as an uncertain planning figure and confirm the current schedule directly before making commitments.
The manufacturer lists its model home at Tuttlinger Straße 36, 78628 Rottweil, Germany, with visits by appointment. Confirm with DQApartments that a viewing is currently available before travelling.

How to assess whether this compact house suits a plot
The small footprint alone does not establish that the house can be placed on a particular lot. Before comparing it with a single-storey home, loft conversion or towable unit, consider the factors that determine the real fit:
- Usable floor area versus ground coverage: the reported 39 sq m is spread across three levels over a 4 m by 4.20 m footprint.
- Circulation and room use: the layout puts bedrooms and bathrooms on upper floors, connected by stairs; decide whether that arrangement works for the intended occupants.
- Planning and permissions: the manufacturer says documents and permits depend on the intended site. The product should not be assumed to fit any small lot.
- Access for delivery: truck transport and crane placement require a workable route and installation plan; confirm the site conditions and costs with the manufacturer.
- Total project cost: compare the house price alongside land, planning, permits, survey, foundations, connections, transport, crane, assembly and landscaping.
- Specification certainty: compare written inclusions rather than relying on images that may show paid extras.
These checks matter because the DQ Tower exchanges a larger ground footprint for a vertical plan and a more involved installation process. The cited product materials do not establish whether a given site will meet local requirements; that must be resolved for the actual plot and jurisdiction.
