Skanska has won five US construction contracts with a combined reported value of $682 million, according to Global Construction Review on 6 October 2026. The projects span a naval pier replacement, university arts facilities, two school projects and hospital work. Skanska’s official Q3 2026 order-bookings page lists SEK values for three of the named projects, while its separate release confirms the western-US education contract amendment; the company has not published a USD reconciliation of the five-award total.

The five USD amounts reported by Global Construction Review add to $682 million. Skanska’s published booking figures are in Swedish kronor (SEK), not a company-issued USD reconciliation of this total.
What each contract covers
Naval Station Newport: $271 million reported
At Naval Station Newport in Rhode Island, Skanska is to replace an existing homeport pier for the Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command (NAVFAC). Global Construction Review reports that the work involves demolishing a 30-metre by 482-metre pier and building a 24-metre by 305-metre replacement intended to berth four US Coast Guard Offshore Patrol Cutters. The supporting work includes substations, water and wastewater connections, and compressed air. Work had begun when the report was published; the reported completion target is March 2030. Skanska lists the NAVFAC Mid-Atlantic project at SEK 2,500 million in its order bookings.
University of Mary Washington: $163 million reported
The Fredericksburg, Virginia, project combines new construction, site work and renovation. The reported scope includes site development and infrastructure, a multistorey theatre of 6,300 square metres with a 293-seat performance hall, renovation of 7,600 square metres of fine-arts buildings, and an additional 800 square metres. Work had begun, with completion reported for February 2030. Skanska’s order-bookings page lists the university project at SEK 1,500 million.

Renton School District: $110 million reported
In Washington state, Skanska is building a three-storey high school of 32,500 square metres designed for 1,600 students. Global Construction Review describes learning, arts, science, career and technical education, library, health, cafeteria, gym, field and community spaces. The report gives autumn 2029 as the completion target.
Western-US school: $78 million
Skanska confirmed a USD 78 million contract amendment—about SEK 730 million—for an education project in the western USA and said it would be included in Q3 2026 US order bookings. The reported project will replace an existing school on its site and is intended to expand opportunities for students and the local community. The client and specific location have not been disclosed. Completion is reported for 2029.

Lee Health: $60 million reported
In Fort Myers, Florida, the reported contract concerns the West Bed Tower expansion. Global Construction Review describes a five-floor, 38,600-square-metre hospital and an 11,600-square-metre medical office building with an ambulatory surgery centre. Skanska’s scope includes interior fit-out finishes and associated mechanical, electrical and plumbing work. Completion is reported for May 2028. Skanska lists an additional Lee Health hospital contract at SEK 560 million in its order bookings.
How to read the contract values
The $682 million combined value and the five individual USD amounts are figures reported by Global Construction Review. Skanska’s Q3 2026 order-bookings listing gives SEK booking values for the NAVFAC Mid-Atlantic, University of Mary Washington and Lee Health projects. The separate Skanska release on the western-US education amendment confirms USD 78 million, about SEK 730 million. Those company figures use a different currency basis; they should not be treated as a direct confirmation of the report’s USD aggregate.

What the awards indicate
The reported work is spread across public-sector and institutional construction rather than one market: naval infrastructure, higher education, K–12 education and healthcare. Newport is the largest of the five reported awards, while the Lee Health project has the earliest stated completion target. Project scopes, dimensions and schedules here are those reported by Global Construction Review and may change as construction proceeds.
