Where is construction taking place, and what is the schedule?
The work is on Shasta Dam Boulevard between Hardenbrook Avenue and Shasta Way, within the City of Shasta Lake. Construction began October 5, 2026. A Record Searchlight report republished by AOL on October 10 described May 2027 as the expected completion date; that is a forecast, not a guaranteed finish date.

The reported project cost is $4 million. The article says funding comes from the Affordable Housing and Sustainable Communities Program and Federal Carbon Reduction Program funds.
What should drivers and nearby residents expect?
According to the October 10 report, work was planned for weekdays from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., weather permitting, with some nighttime work. Temporary traffic delays and road closures were anticipated, and the report advised allowing for delays of up to 15 minutes. These are reported expectations, not a live traffic notice; conditions and timing may change.

Drivers should follow posted traffic controls and detours. The report advises semi-truck and logging-truck drivers to use Pine Grove Avenue and Ashby Road. Mail and garbage service were expected to continue during construction.
