Senna Tower is a proposed residential skyscraper in Balneário Camboriú, in Brazil’s Santa Catarina state, developed by FG Empreendimentos in partnership with Marca Senna as a tribute to racing driver Ayrton Senna. The project is promoted as a contender for the world’s tallest residential skyscraper, but that is an ambition, not a completed-building record: published planned-height figures vary, and the sources available do not establish a final built height or completion date.
What is Senna Tower?
Senna Tower is a planned residential high-rise in Balneário Camboriú, a coastal city in southern Brazil. FG Empreendimentos announced the project with Marca Senna, the brand established by Ayrton Senna, presenting it as an architectural tribute to the three-time Formula One world champion. The tower is not a completed building, so claims that it is the world’s tallest should be understood as describing the project’s intended status.
How is Ayrton Senna connected to the design?
Project coverage credits the design to artist Lalalli Senna, Ayrton Senna’s niece. The partnership with Marca Senna gives the building its name and the planned visitor-facing Senna feature is intended to present aspects of his life, career and achievements. The motorsport reference in headlines about a tower that “races” for a height record is figurative; it does not describe a literal race.
What is planned for the building?
Residences and private amenities
New Atlas reported in September 2024 that the design included 228 residences: 18 described as “suspended mansions” and two “mega-triplex penthouses.” The project announcement also describes six private leisure floors, an exclusive residential rooftop and more than 6,000 square metres of planned leisure area. These are proposed features, not confirmation of facilities already built or operating.

Public-facing uses
The 2024 design coverage also describes planned retail, restaurants, entertainment and an immersive feature about Senna. Those elements would give the project uses beyond residents’ private spaces, but the available sources do not establish that they have opened or provide a dependable public-access schedule.
How tall is Senna Tower supposed to be?
Published figures differ, and none should be mistaken for an as-built measurement. New Atlas reported on 18 September 2024 that the planned height would exceed 500 metres, while noting that an exact figure was not then available. The Skyscraper Center, operated by the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH), lists the tower at 544 metres. A March 2026 article from FIESC, the Federation of Industries of the State of Santa Catarina, reports 550 metres as the project height. The reviewed sources do not explain whether the difference reflects design changes, measurement conventions or another reporting distinction.

| Source and date | Height figure | What the figure represents |
|---|---|---|
| New Atlas, 18 September 2024 | More than 500 m | Reported planned height; the article said the exact height was not then available. |
| CTBUH / The Skyscraper Center, accessed 2026 | 544 m | Database listing for the project, not a verified completed height. |
| FIESC, March 2026 | 550 m | Reported project height, not an as-built measurement. |
For that reason, “planned to exceed 500 metres” is the safest broad description. Whether the tower would hold a record depends on the final design and construction, as well as how a ranking defines residential use and measures building height. New Atlas’s 2024 article also mentioned another proposed project, Six Senses Residences Dubai Marina, then slated at 517 metres; that dated comparison is not a current ranking of completed towers.

Marca Senna’s project announcement reported local approvals, including an Estudo de Impacto de Vizinhança (neighbourhood impact study), an Environmental Installation License and municipal approval. These are approvals reported by the project announcement; by themselves, they do not establish that construction is complete or that the building has opened. The sources cited here do not provide a dependable current completion date or public opening schedule.

What would need to happen before it could claim a completed-building record?
- The tower would need to be built to a confirmed final height; proposed figures and database listings are not a substitute for an as-built measurement.
- A record comparison would need to use a consistent definition of “residential skyscraper” and the same height-measurement rules for all buildings.
- The building would need to qualify as completed under the ranking authority’s criteria. A proposal or construction milestone is not the same as a completed-building record.
