Verdict: the Salter Kuro Actifusion is a good-value, mains-powered personal blender for fresh-fruit smoothies, protein shakes and small dips. Its standout feature is the four-bottle bundle—not cordless portability. You can carry the finished drink to work, school or the gym, but you need a UK three-pin socket to blend it.
The four-bottle version reviewed here includes two 600ml blending bottles and two 400ml sports bottles. It is a sensible low-cost choice for one-person drinks, provided you do not need large batches, dishwasher-safe parts, variable speeds or consistently smooth results from ice, nuts and very fibrous ingredients.

What is included?
The four-bottle set contains the blender base, stainless-steel blade assembly, two 600ml BPA-free blending bottles, two 400ml sports bottles, bottle lids and built-in cord storage. The 600ml bottles are the primary blending containers. The smaller sports bottles are best regarded as carry bottles unless the manual for your exact model says otherwise.

This is a more useful bundle than many budget personal blenders provide. Two people can prepare drinks, or one person can blend several portions for different days. However, four bottles do not turn the Kuro into a family blender: each blend remains a personal-sized serving.
Portable bottles, not a portable blender
This is the most important buying distinction. The bottles are portable; the appliance is not cordless. The Kuro has a mains cable and requires a three-pin socket, as T3 noted in its review.
That makes it portable in the practical sense that you can blend into a bottle and take the drink away. It is not suitable for blending at the gym, in a car or at school unless a safe mains socket is available. A rechargeable model such as Salter’s ActiBoost Cordless Portable Blender is a better fit for genuinely socket-free use, although it has a smaller 450ml capacity and a lower 100W rating.
The cord does have one advantage: unlike a battery blender, the Kuro does not depend on charge level. It can keep working from a socket, subject to its operating limits and cooling requirements.

How well does the 350W motor blend?
Do not treat wattage as a direct measure of finished texture. Ingredient size, liquid quantity, fibre, skins, seeds, ice and the short operating cycle all matter. The defensible published rating is 350W, although Salter’s product page contains a contradictory FAQ reference to a 1000W motor. Retailer specifications also identify the Kuro as 350W, so the 1000W wording should not be used to describe this model without clarification.
Independent testing supports the basic smoothie brief. T3 found it effective with strawberries, cored apple and a range of fruit and vegetables, and considered it suitable for smoothies, juices, protein shakes, milkshakes, dips and dressings.
BBC Good Food rated it 4.5/5 as a budget smoothie maker after testing ingredients including apple, banana, ginger, kale, ice, oats and frozen fruit with 400ml of water. It praised the motor’s capability for the size and the extra bottles, but noted that the 30-second cut-off can mean fibrous mixtures need to be processed in stages.
Best results
- Fresh soft fruit: berries, banana and similarly soft ingredients are the safest match.
- Protein shakes: milk or another liquid, protein powder and soft fruit should suit the personal-blender format.
- Milkshakes: small portions are appropriate.
- Dips and dressings: use enough liquid and keep the quantity modest.
More demanding ingredients
Kale, frozen fruit and ice may work, but texture is less predictable than with soft fresh produce. Add liquid first, cut ingredients small and use short stages. If the mixture stalls, stop, shake the bottle and add liquid rather than forcing the motor to run against a dense plug.
Rank #3
- PULSE TECHNOLOGY POWER: The powerful 700-watt push-to-blend motor base powers through everything in the cup for the best of Ninja blending as a smoothie maker, milkshake mixer, and more
- NUTRIENT EXTRACTION* DRINKS: Unlock hidden vitamins and nutrients from whole fruits and veggies, blending even the portions that are usually discarded for a nutritious drink
- BLENDS FROZEN INGREDIENTS: Crush ice and pulverize frozen ingredients for resort-like frozen drinks, smoothies, shakes, and more
- COMPACT COUNTERTOP DESIGN: So compact that it fits on any countertop, with intuitive push-to-blend controls making it the go-to choice for shakes and smoothies
- ON-THE-GO CONVENIENCE: Blend directly in the 16-oz. single-serve cup, attach the spout lid, and enjoy your creations wherever your day takes you
Nuts, nut butter, very thick mixtures and large quantities are poor reasons to buy this blender. Salter may market the appliance as suitable for ice and frozen ingredients, but the available independent evidence does not justify promising silky results in every demanding recipe.
Capacity: 600ml is a personal serving
The two 600ml cups are useful for a breakfast smoothie or shake, but 600ml is the bottle’s headline capacity—not necessarily the safe usable fill level. Leave room for liquid movement and foam, and follow the marks and instructions supplied with your model.
The 400ml sports bottles are convenient for carrying smaller drinks. Do not assume every included bottle can be attached to the motor base. Confirm the intended blending cup and maximum fill line in the manual for the relevant EK6133 variant.

Salter markets the supplied lids as leak-proof, and T3 reported no leaks during its review. That is reassuring, but it is not a guarantee that a bottle can never leak. Threads, gaskets and lid seals can be misaligned, damaged, displaced or worn over time.

- HEALTHIER LIFESTYLE: The original nutribullet has everything you need to take that first step toward a healthier lifestyle
- NUTRITION IN NO TIME: Effortlessly blend fruits, vegetables, liquids and so much more into nutritious smoothies, simply and deliciously delivering key nutrients to your body
- POWERFUL MOTOR: 600 watts of power in the original nutribullet blender turns anything from strawberries to spinach into smooth, sippable nutrition
- ESSENTIAL DESIGN: Simple, intuitive design makes this a device you'll use every day. Just push, twist and blend. Yes, it's that easy
- CLEANS LIKE A DREAM: Simply twist off the blades, rinse with soap and water, and put the cups on the top rack of the dishwasher. That's health without the hassle
Before carrying a new bottle in a bag:
- Check that the correct lid is fitted and fully tightened.
- Make sure the gasket is seated evenly.
- Do not overfill the bottle.
- Test it with water over a sink, then turn it upside down and gently shake it.
- Inspect the threads and seal if leakage develops.
Replace the blade assembly with the drinking lid before transport. “Leak-proof” also does not mean pressure-proof: do not use the bottle for carbonated drinks or carry it with a hot, pressurised liquid.
Cleaning: follow the exact manual
Salter’s online information is inconsistent. The specification section says the parts are not dishwasher-safe, and Currys lists no dishwasher-safe parts. Elsewhere, Salter’s FAQ says the bottles are dishwasher-safe. Until the instructions for your exact SKU resolve that conflict, hand-washing is the safest approach.
Wash the bottles, lids and blade assembly promptly after use. Handle the blades carefully, inspect the blade seal and bottle threads, and never immerse the motor base. “Easy to clean”, as reported by T3, is not the same as confirmed dishwasher compatibility. Check the model suffix against the supplied manual before using a dishwasher.

- Wash the removable parts before first use.
- Add liquid first, followed by softer ingredients and then smaller pieces of fruit or vegetables.
- Stay below the marked maximum capacity.
- Secure the blending blade assembly firmly.
- Invert the bottle and align the indicator arrows with the blender base.
- Twist or click it into the locked position.
- Use the one-touch control as directed by the model-specific manual.
- Stop if the mixture stalls, the motor strains or the automatic cut-off activates.
- Unplug the base before removing the bottle or handling the blades.
- Fit the drinking lid before taking the bottle away.
The Kuro’s simple one-button design is easy to understand, but it gives you less control than a blender with variable speeds or pulse operation. The short cut-off is helpful protection against prolonged running, yet dense or fibrous drinks may need several stages.

Safety and common problems
- Motor stops or overheats: unplug it and allow it to cool. Do not repeatedly restart a stalled blender.
- Fibrous smoothie stalls: use smaller pieces, add liquid, blend briefly and shake between stages.
- Frozen ingredients do not circulate: thaw them slightly and add more liquid; do not overload the cup.
- Chunky results remain: accept a coarser texture, soften the ingredients or choose a stronger blender.
- Bottle leaks: check the gasket, lid alignment, threads and fill level.
- Water reaches the base: unplug immediately and keep the motor housing dry.
Do not blend hot liquids unless the manual expressly permits it, never run the blender empty and never carry a bottle with the blade assembly still attached. Retail specifications for at least one Kuro listing do not identify a separate safety lock, so do not assume an electronic interlock beyond the fitting instructions.

Pros and cons
Pros
- Low-cost personal-blender format.
- Unusually generous four-bottle bundle.
- Good results with many fresh-fruit smoothies and shakes.
- Compact footprint and useful cord storage.
- Simple one-touch operation.
Cons
- Mains-powered, so not cordless or socket-free.
- One speed and no confirmed pulse function on retailer listings.
- 600ml personal capacity, not a family jug.
- Short-cycle limitation can complicate fibrous blends.
- Dishwasher guidance is contradictory.
- Not the right tool for reliably silky ice, nut or very thick mixtures.
- Available review counts are small and cannot establish long-term durability.
Should you buy the Salter Kuro Actifusion?
Buy it if you mainly make one-person fresh-fruit smoothies, protein shakes or milkshakes, have a socket where you prepare them and will use the extra bottles. At a low promotional price, the four-bottle bundle is its strongest argument.
Choose something else if “portable” means blending without mains power. Salter’s ActiBoost is the directly comparable cordless option, while a stronger personal blender is more appropriate for frequent ice, frozen fruit or thick mixtures. For family quantities, buy a full-size jug blender instead.
Overall, the Kuro is a capable budget smoothie maker with a practical bottle bundle. It is best described as a compact mains-powered blender with portable containers—not “portable smoothie heaven” in the cordless sense—and its leak-proof and dishwasher claims deserve sensible, model-specific checks.
