Bob Krien of Hunzinger Construction is listed as an honoree in The Daily Reporter’s 2026 Safety Professional of the Year category. The same category also lists Don Moen of Associated Builders and Contractors of Wisconsin, so the published listing does not identify Krien as the sole recipient. It also does not explain the specific work, credentials or nomination rationale behind either listing.
What the 2026 listing says
The Daily Reporter’s Newsmakers of the Year event page names Bob Krien in the Safety Professional of the Year category and identifies him with Hunzinger Construction. The page presents him as a listed honoree, not as a ranked winner. The category includes another named individual, Don Moen of Associated Builders and Contractors of Wisconsin.

The listing describes the awards in broad terms: “The Daily Reporter’s Newsmakers of the Year awards honors individuals and companies that have made headlines throughout the year and have excelled in their field.” That sentence explains the event’s general purpose, but it is not a published scoring system or a person-specific citation. Read the event listing at The Daily Reporter’s Newsmakers of the Year.
Who appears in the category
| Category | Listed individual | Organization named on the listing |
|---|---|---|
| Safety Professional of the Year | Bob Krien | Hunzinger Construction |
| Safety Professional of the Year | Don Moen | Associated Builders and Contractors of Wisconsin |
Because two people are named under the same category, the source does not support wording that calls Krien the sole honoree, an exclusive winner or the top-ranked safety professional.

Why was Bob Krien named?
The checked event listing does not answer that question. It provides no description of Krien’s safety initiatives, project results, injury rates, training programs, certifications, years of experience, nomination statement or judging criteria. Any explanation of why he was selected would require a separate, attributable source from Hunzinger Construction, The Daily Reporter or the event organizers.
That limitation matters in construction safety coverage. A category listing confirms recognition, but it does not by itself establish a measurable performance record or prove that a particular program produced a specific outcome. No named statistic about Krien’s work appears in the listing, and no quotation from Krien appears there either.

Use “listed honoree”
“Bob Krien of Hunzinger Construction was listed in the 2026 Safety Professional of the Year category” stays within what the event page confirms. “Recognized” or “named in the category” are similarly cautious descriptions.

Avoid an unsupported selection story
Do not attribute a specific safety improvement, leadership achievement, credential or project success to the honor unless a source identifies it. The event page’s general statement about people and companies that made headlines and excelled in their field should not be rewritten as a detailed reason for Krien’s inclusion.
Keep the second name in context
Don Moen’s appearance in the same category is material context. Omitting that fact can make the listing appear to announce a single winner when the published page does not do so.

What readers can conclude
The reliable conclusion is narrow but clear: Krien is one of the individuals listed in The Daily Reporter’s 2026 Safety Professional of the Year category, and Hunzinger Construction is the organization associated with his name on that notice. The page also names Moen in the category and gives Milwaukee’s Jan Serr Studio as the venue for the event scheduled on October 8, 2026. It does not provide the individual rationale behind the listing, so readers should not infer achievements that the notice does not document.
