Its real innovation is the combination of a split anti-tangle brush, extending edge-cleaning hardware, and a height-adjusting chassis—not the headline 18,500 Pa suction figure alone.
It is less convincing at full flagship pricing. The Curv is tall, its camera-based obstacle avoidance can miss cords and low objects, and its threshold system is not consistently reliable on shag or tasselled rugs. Buy it when substantially discounted; compare more carefully when its price approaches newer models such as the Roborock Saros 10R.

What was rebuilt “from inside out”?
DuoDivide: a split main brush
Most robot vacuums use one continuous roller. The Curv’s DuoDivide brush is split into two sections with a gap in the middle. The intended effect is to guide hair toward the suction channel instead of letting it wind around the brush ends.
Roborock says the brush achieved an SGS-certified 0% hair-entanglement rate. That is a manufacturer claim under specified testing conditions, not a guarantee that no hair will ever collect anywhere in a household machine. Vacuum Wars also reported a perfect result in its pet-hair tangle test, while noting that its test methodology was still developing. See the official product specifications and Vacuum Wars testing.
In practical terms, the design substantially reduces the most frustrating kind of maintenance: cutting wrapped hair from the center of a conventional roller. It does not make the robot maintenance-free. Hair can still gather around bearings, brush-cover channels, the side-brush base, wheels, the dustbin, the filter, or the dock inlet. The user manual still instructs owners to inspect and clean the brush ends and bearings.
The split brush also has to do more than resist hair. Independent testing found the Curv strong at fine dust, large debris, carpet debris, and pet hair. Its overall pickup performance is more important than the brush’s marketing label.
FlexiArm Arc side brush
The FlexiArm Arc side brush extends beyond the robot’s circular body, sweeping debris from walls and corners into the vacuum path. Its curved bristles are designed to reduce hair wrapping as well.
This is a meaningful improvement over a conventional circular robot, whose side brush often cannot reach the last strip beside a wall. Testing from Vacuum Wars and RTINGS found the extending brush effective with both fine and larger debris. It improves corner cleaning; it does not make every corner perfectly clean. Room geometry, mapping accuracy, accumulated debris, and the shape of the corner still matter.
FlexiArm edge mop
One of the two rotating mop pads extends toward walls and edges. That gives the Curv a better chance of scrubbing the narrow margin that round robots normally leave untouched. RTINGS found edge and corner mopping useful and rated the Curv’s dried-stain performance among the strongest in its Qrevo comparisons.

- 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐲-𝐅𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐀𝐝𝐚𝐩𝐭𝐢𝐋𝐢𝐟𝐭 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐬: The Roborock AdaptiLift Chassis technology brings a new level of versatility, allowing the robot to lift its entire chassis to 4cm max or adjust individual sections—front, rear, left, or right—based on the terrain. Whether tackling high thresholds or effortlessly maneuvering around furniture legs, it adapts seamlessly to your home's layout, enabling smooth, uninterrupted cleaning. (roborock was the first in the robot vacuum industry to mass-produce a product featuring a liftable chassis system with three-wheel control, officially launching this technology in Q3 2024.)
There are limits. The robot’s body still creates a physical gap, the extension depends on correct navigation and room geometry, and the mechanism is another moving part that may need inspection. It is designed for hard floors; it does not make carpet safe to wet.
AdaptiLift chassis
The AdaptiLift chassis changes the robot’s wheel or chassis height to help it cross thresholds. Roborock advertises clearance of up to 4 cm. Vacuum Wars reported successful crossing of a 25 mm threshold after the threshold was identified in the app, while RTINGS measured approximately 3.8 cm in testing.
That does not mean the Curv will cross every 4 cm transition. Success depends on the threshold’s width and shape, traction, whether the surface is level or tiered, how the robot approaches it, and whether the map represents it correctly. Loose rug edges, high pile, shag carpeting, and tassels are separate problems: RTINGS found the Curv could fail on some shag carpets and tasselled rugs.
Vacuum-cleaning performance
Hard floors
The Curv is particularly convincing on hard floors. It handles fine dust and larger debris well, while the extending side brush helps collect material near walls. The DuoDivide roller also limits the long-hair cleanup that often follows repeated runs.
The Tool Desk
Outbyte Driver Updater FREEFix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Outbyte PC Repair FREEClear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Its advertised 18,500 Pa is a maximum manufacturer suction figure, not a standardized independent cleaning score. Pa values from different products do not by themselves establish which robot cleans better. Vacuum Wars described the Curv’s overall debris pickup as strong but found its airflow and crevice performance closer to average.
Carpets and embedded debris
The Curv performs well with surface debris on carpet and is capable with embedded material, helped by its brush design and strong overall pickup. It is a better fit for homes that alternate between hard floors and ordinary low- or medium-pile carpet than for homes dominated by shag or loose, decorative rugs.
Pet hair and long human hair
Pet hair is one of the Curv’s strongest use cases. Independent testing reported excellent pet-hair handling and a perfect result in Vacuum Wars’ tangle test. For long human hair, the split roller should reduce wrapping around the main brush ends, but owners should still inspect the bearings, side brush, wheels, and dock inlet.

Crevices and edges
The Curv’s edge hardware is more significant than another increase in suction. It reaches farther along walls and into corners than a standard round robot. However, Vacuum Wars found crevice performance average, so it should not be treated as a substitute for a powerful handheld or upright vacuum at deep floor gaps.
Mopping: strong scrubbing, not a replacement for manual cleaning
The Curv uses two rotating mop pads with adjustable water delivery. It can lift the pads when crossing carpet, allowing vacuuming and mopping in a mixed-floor home during one routine.
Its strongest results are on dried food and drink marks, paw prints, fine dust film, and ordinary kitchen residue. RTINGS found especially good stain performance with High water flow and Deep+ pathing. Vacuum Wars also reported strong stain cleaning. Rotating pads provide genuine agitation rather than merely dragging a damp cloth across the floor.
The edge mop improves wall-side coverage, but it cannot reach every millimetre. The Re-Mop stain-detection function may also be inconsistent, so a detected stain should not be assumed to receive a guaranteed second pass.
Do not expect the Curv to replace manual cleaning for thick or greasy buildup, grout, stairs, vertical surfaces, large liquid spills, or areas requiring disinfectant or a specialized cleaner. Mop lifting protects carpets during mixed-floor runs, but check the app’s carpet settings and keep tasselled or unstable rugs away from the robot.

Does the dock actually reduce maintenance?
The Multifunctional Dock 3.0 removes much of the repetitive work. It empties the robot’s dustbin, refills its water tank, washes mop pads with water up to 167°F (75°C), dries them with warm air, and can detect dirty mop water and trigger additional washing. Roborock also describes a self-cleaning base system.
The important qualification is simple: automation reduces routine maintenance; it does not eliminate maintenance. The dock still has dirty water to empty, clean water to refill, a wash tray to inspect, filters and sensors to clean, and consumables to replace.

Realistic maintenance schedule
| Part | Guidance |
|---|---|
| Main brush | Clean approximately every two weeks; replace every 6–12 months |
| Side brush | Clean monthly; replace every 3–6 months |
| Washable filter | Clean every two weeks; replace every 6–12 months |
| Mop cloths | Clean as required; replace every 1–3 months |
| Dock and tanks | Empty dirty water, refill clean water, and clean the wash tray as needed |
After washing, the manual says the filter and robot dustbin should dry for at least 24 hours. Mop cloths should be cleaned and air-dried. Owners should also remove hair from brush bearings, the omni-wheel, side-brush base, and dock suction inlet, and wipe sensors and charging contacts. These intervals come from the Qrevo Curv user manual; actual frequency depends on pets, floor area, and cleaning frequency.
Navigation and obstacle avoidance
LiDAR mapping gives the Curv efficient room navigation, while the front camera and structured-light system identify obstacles. Independent results are mixed rather than contradictory: the robot maps and travels efficiently, but recognition is not foolproof.
Vacuum Wars found obstacle avoidance reasonably good but imperfect. RTINGS reported that the Curv could miss cords and low obstacles, run into or over some objects, and struggle on certain carpeted surfaces. The raised LiDAR module also limits clearance beneath low furniture.
Before a scheduled run:
- Pick up charging cables, socks, strings, thin fabric, and pet toys.
- Keep tasselled rugs away or mark them as no-go areas.
- Measure furniture clearance; the robot is about 4.1 inches (10.3 cm) tall.
- Use the app to represent difficult thresholds if the robot struggles to approach them.
- Create no-go zones around water bowls, unstable objects, and delicate furniture.
Do not rely on the camera system to detect pet waste or every small hazard. A robot that avoids some obstacles is not a robot that can safely run through a cluttered floor without preparation.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.App and smart-home features
The Roborock app supports multi-floor maps—reported as up to four floors—along with room naming, room-by-room cleaning order, cleaning zones, no-go zones, virtual barriers, Entrapping Areas, schedules, routines, suction settings, mop settings, and floor-direction controls.
Pet Patrol, pet search, video interaction, voice commands, and the “Hello Rocky” interaction may be useful to some owners, but they do not improve debris pickup. The front camera also creates a privacy consideration. The available product information does not establish the precise privacy controls, permissions, cloud requirements, or disablement path for every video function, so buyers who are uncomfortable with an onboard camera should verify those details in the app and current privacy documentation before purchase.

Size, placement, and setup
According to Roborock’s US specifications, the robot measures 13.9 × 13.7 × 4.1 inches, weighs 8.6 pounds, and uses a 6,400 mAh lithium-ion battery. The manual-tank dock measures 17.7 × 17.7 × 17.7 inches and weighs 19.58 pounds. TechRadar lists a 2.7-liter dock dustbin and the same approximate 4 cm advertised threshold clearance.
The dock is large enough to matter in an apartment or small utility area. It needs a stable, level position, a nearby outlet, accessible water tanks and dust bag, and enough open space for the robot to approach and leave. Do not place it where furniture blocks the camera or LiDAR. Measure under sofas, beds, and entertainment units before buying: the 4.1-inch body height excludes some low-clearance areas.
Qrevo Curv versus newer Roborock models
| Model | Better choice when… | Main trade-off |
|---|---|---|
| Original Qrevo Curv | You want strong debris and pet-hair pickup, good mopping, and threshold capability at a substantial discount. | Tall body, imperfect obstacle avoidance, and conditional performance on shag or tasselled rugs. |
| Qrevo Curv 2 Flow | You prioritize a roller-mop design and dried-stain removal. | RTINGS found the original Curv better for debris pickup and threshold crossing. |
| Roborock Saros 10R | You need better access under low furniture and stronger all-round obstacle avoidance. | Compare its actual price with a discounted Curv; newer does not automatically mean better in every cleaning category. |
The original Curv should now be evaluated as a discounted previous flagship, not as Roborock’s latest model. Vacuum Wars noted on August 18, 2026, that a newer robot had replaced the Curv as its number-one pick. That ranking does not erase the Curv’s advantages in pet hair, debris pickup, mopping, and threshold handling.
Price and 2026 value
Prices are volatile and vary by retailer, color, configuration, coupon, and date. On August 18, 2026, Roborock’s US store displayed the Qrevo Curv at $849.99, alongside a $1,599.99 crossed-out reference price. Vacuum Wars reported a market price of approximately $696 the same day. The lower figure is the more persuasive value signal; neither should be treated as a permanent price.
At roughly the reported market level, the Curv is attractive for pet owners and mixed-floor households that would otherwise pay premium prices for automated mop washing, drying, refilling, and dust emptying. At $849.99, it remains capable but deserves comparison with newer flagships. At a price close to a substantially better-equipped successor, its age and obstacle-avoidance limitations matter more.
Ownership also includes dust bags, mop cloths, filters, brushes, and approved cleaning supplies. The official store listed observed prices including $25.99 for 1 liter of compatible floor-cleaning solution, $20.99 for a four-pack of mop cloths, and $25.59 for six dust bags. These prices and stock can change, so treat them as examples rather than fixed costs.
