At $280, it is still worth considering for mostly hard-floor homes that want LiDAR mapping and automatic dust emptying, but its basic mopping system and limited obstacle avoidance matter.
The $220 Roborock deal was realโbut it was not current
The deal was for the Roborock Q7 M5+, the version that includes an auto-empty dock. It was listed at $219.99 on Amazon in December 2025. Phandroid reported the price on December 16, while the Slickdeals record was posted December 21 and described $219.99 as the lowest price seen on Amazon.

The promotion is no longer the price readers should expect. The official Roborock U.S. product page showed the Q7 M5+ at $279.99 on August 18, 2026, with a displayed comparison price of $429.99. A two-pack of mop cloths was also shown as free with purchase at that time, although offers can change.

What the โ+โ version includes
The โ+โ is important. Roborock sells the Q7 M5 and Q7 M5+ as separate models. The Q7 M5+ package includes:

10,000Pa suction is a claim, not a guarantee
Roborock says the 10,000Pa figure comes from internal testing in Max+ mode with a full battery under IEC 62885-2:2021/5.11 conditions. Actual pickup depends on flooring, debris, brush condition, battery state, and cleaning mode. A higher Pa number alone does not prove that this robot will outperform every vacuum with a lower advertised number.

LiDAR mapping is the main strength
The Q7 M5+ uses LiDAR to scan its surroundings and create maps. The app supports scheduling, room-to-room cleaning, no-go zones, and monitoring. That is a meaningful advantage over inexpensive robots that move randomly or offer limited control.
LiDAR should not be confused with premium camera-based object recognition. Remove cables, socks, toys, and other small objects before scheduled runs, and be especially careful if pets could leave waste on the floor.
The dock empties dustโbut does not wash the mop
The RockDock Plus is an auto-empty station, not a full-service cleaning base. The official product information identifies the dust bag and automatic emptying, but does not claim:

The biggest compromises
Basic mopping
The detachable mop can run at the same time as vacuuming, and three water-flow levels are available. That makes it suitable for dust and light daily residue, but it should not be treated as a replacement for scrubbing dried spills or deeply soiled floors.
The product page does not list automatic mop lifting. If you have both carpet and hard floors, plan your routines around the mop module and verify the current manual before relying on unattended mixed-floor cleaning.
Carpet and pet-hair limitations
The Q7 M5+ lists Auto Boost on Carpet, which increases suction when carpet is detected. Roborock also describes a dual anti-tangle system designed to reduce hair wrapping. Neither feature makes the robot maintenance-free or establishes independent performance on dense carpet and heavy shedding.
Hair can still collect around brushes, axles, and the dock inlet. Light-to-moderate pet-hair homes are a better fit than homes with constant heavy shedding and thick carpet.

2.4GHz-only Wi-Fi
The Roborock app requires 2.4GHz Wi-Fi for this model. If your router combines 2.4GHz and 5GHz under one network name, pairing may be troublesome. Try connecting your phone to a 2.4GHz network or temporarily separating the bands. Do not assume the robot is defective until network compatibility has been checked.
Dock space and thresholds
The robot measures about 12.8 ร 12.8 ร 3.9 inches; the dock is about 8.3 ร 7.0 ร 10.2 inches. Put the dock on a level surface with clear access, and measure the intended location first. Roborock lists a climbing ability of about 2 centimeters, so taller thresholds may require a ramp or manual assistance.

The low entry price does not eliminate consumables. When observed, Roborockโs U.S. store listed six compatible dust bags for $25.59, two replacement filters for $24.99, and two replacement mop cloths for $12.59. Prices and availability can change.
Dust bags are the most important recurring expense because the auto-empty dock requires compatible disposable bags. Buyers who dislike proprietary consumables may prefer a manually emptied robot.
