It is a removable interior rather than a self-contained camper: you supply a compatible truck and shell, and still need to choose cooking, cooling and water equipment. Roadloft’s current US full-size listing is US$4,995; fit, headroom and the final cost depend on your truck and setup.
What the pickup camper kit includes
The Roadloft system is designed to make one pickup bed serve several purposes, rather than functioning only as a sleeping platform. Its panels and storage units create a place to sleep, sit, eat or work, with kitchen functions arranged at the open tailgate. The kit attaches without permanent vehicle modification, according to Roadloft.
Roadloft’s current US full-size product listing gives a kit weight of 120 lb, a length of 71 inches, a bed width of 62 inches and a tailgate width of 58 inches. It lists a 48-by-71-inch bed, 194 L of total storage capacity and a five-year warranty. These are manufacturer-stated specifications, not independent measurements. Weight figures differ across Roadloft’s materials: its overview describes the kit as 54 kg, while the current full-size listing says 120 lb. New Atlas reported just under 126 lb (57 kg) for structural components in its December 17, 2024 article. These figures have different attributions and may reflect different versions or what is included; they should not be treated as interchangeable.

How the layout changes from bed to lounge
Sleeping and seating
Removable center bed panels can be repositioned to form lounge seating and a backrest. A solo arrangement can keep an L-shaped lounge while leaving a single sleeping space. Fold-out swivel tables serve as a dining surface or desk, and cubbies provide storage under or beside the seats. The full-size bed measures 48 by 71 inches according to Roadloft, so check that footprint against the space and sleeping arrangement you need.
Tailgate kitchen
The kitchen is organized around the open tailgate. The driver-side drawer is intended to hold a portable two-burner stove. The passenger-side module has drawers and a collapsible sink insert; its upper section can be removed for outdoor use. A refrigerator or cooler can sit between the two modules, and a water canister supplies the basic sink arrangement. The stove, refrigerator or cooler, and water container are equipment choices to plan separately; fit depends on the models selected.

Roadloft’s current product page describes an indoor-outdoor kitchen with a retractable sink and removable table. It does not establish that cooking or cooling appliances are included, so confirm the kit contents and equipment dimensions before purchase.
Will it fit your pickup?
Roadloft says the kit is certified compatible with pickups that have a six-foot bed, but bed length alone is not enough to confirm fit. Its live compatibility guide lists tested full-size and mid-size truck configurations and cautions that some special versions need measurement. Its listed model-year coverage includes Chevrolet Silverado 1500/2500 HD (1999–2025), Dodge Ram 1500/2500 (2009–2025), Ford F-150/F-250/F-350 (2004–2025), GMC Sierra 1500/2500 HD (2019–2025), Nissan Frontier (2022–2025), Toyota Tacoma (2005–2025) and Toyota Tundra (2007–2025). Roadloft identifies RamBox-equipped Rams as incompatible and says newer DT Ram bed dimensions need validation. Its mid-size kit is slightly narrower and uses a single-size modular bed rather than the double-size configuration. If your truck is absent from the guide or has a different bed, Roadloft advises checking its detailed measurements or arranging a test.
Measure the whole setup
- Confirm the actual usable bed length and width, including how the wheel wells and bed shape affect the kit’s footprint.
- Check the tailgate area and the width available for the kitchen modules.
- Match model year, trim and special bed equipment against the compatibility guide; do not assume trucks with the same name have identical beds.
- Assess shell height as well as bed fit. The setup needs enough headroom for the sitting and lounge use you expect.
- Ask the manufacturer to confirm uncertain dimensions before ordering, particularly if your bed is not listed or is a newer configuration.
Plan for the shell, payload and total cost
The conversion kit is an interior for a capped pickup bed, not a complete camper package. Your project budget should account for a suitable shell if you do not already own one, plus cooking, cooling and water equipment. The available product information does not establish a single current bundled price for those items or an independent comparison with a slide-in camper, DIY build or simple sleeping platform.

Include the kit and all other carried equipment when checking your truck’s payload limits. The 120 lb figure is Roadloft’s current full-size kit specification; it does not include the rest of your camping load. Likewise, New Atlas’s 2024 report mentioned a 300 lb (136 kg) static roof-load figure for the Fibrobec mid-height shell discussed in that article. That figure describes that shell, not Roadloft’s kit, and is not a dynamic driving load rating or a universal shell specification.
New Atlas reported that Roadloft offered a Fibrobec mid-height shell locally in Quebec in 2024 and that buyers elsewhere could contact the company about options. That was publication-era availability, not a current universal offer. Confirm shell availability and compatibility for your location and truck.

Roadloft’s US full-size listing reviewed October 4, 2026, showed a price of US$4,995. Price and stock can change; check the product page before ordering. The listing states a five-year warranty. Roadloft also says online orders are processed within two to three business days, with delivery estimates of up to 20 business days in the United States and approximately 15 business days in Canada. These are manufacturer estimates, not guaranteed arrival dates, and should be checked at checkout.
Who benefits most from this layout?
This pickup bed camper kit is best suited to someone who wants a removable, multi-use interior and is willing to verify truck-and-shell fit before buying. Its distinctive value is the shift between a sleeping platform and a seated lounge, with storage and a tailgate kitchen built around the same footprint. A simpler platform may suit a buyer who only needs a place to sleep; a more complete camper solution may be preferable if bringing separate appliances and sourcing a shell do not fit the project.
