Panels slide across an opening or park to one side, combining solar screening with control over privacy and views. The right specification depends on blade direction, adjustment range, material, fabric, host structure and exact dimensions; Outdoor Loggia panels are not universal inserts for every pergola opening.
What Renson Loggia sliding panels are
Loggia panels are exterior brise-soleil screens mounted in a frame and designed to move laterally. Renson describes the basic choice this way: you can slide a panel in front of a window or slide it away completely. Closed panels can shade glazing or an outdoor room; opened panels restore access, daylight and a wider view without removing the screen.

The system is offered in façade-oriented configurations and in an Outdoor Loggia range for selected Renson patio covers and carports. Depending on the model, the infill is fixed horizontal or vertical blades, manually adjustable blades, timber, or sun-resistant screen fabric. Renson also describes manual and motorized operation as available options, but that does not mean every panel style or installation is motorized.

How the panels affect sun, light and privacy
Exterior shading before heat reaches the glass
Renson presents Loggia as a way to screen high summer sun while allowing lower winter sun to enter. That is a design principle, not a guaranteed energy result. The reviewed product information contains no independent test reporting a percentage reduction in cooling demand, indoor temperature or household energy use. Window orientation, glazing, local climate, panel angle, surrounding buildings and operating habits all affect the outcome.

Fixed or adjustable screening
Fixed blades give a consistent façade pattern and a stable visual screen. Adjustable Privacy blades let occupants vary the relationship between daylight, outward view and privacy as conditions change. Fabric panels create a different visual effect and can be selected for more or less view-through, but a fabric specification should be treated separately from an adjustable-blade specification.
Façade Loggia styles compared
| Style | Infill and movement | Best fit to the stated design brief |
|---|---|---|
| Loggialu | Fixed horizontal aluminum blades | Consistent exterior solar screen with an aluminum appearance |
| Loggialu Privacy | Adjustable aluminum blades | Projects that need variable privacy, light and view control |
| Wood-design variants | Wood-look treatments within the Loggia family | A warmer appearance while retaining a coordinated panel system |
| Loggiawood | Cedar blades in an aluminum frame | Genuine timber blade character with a framed panel construction |
| Loggiascreen | Sun-resistant screen fabric | A textile screen where blade geometry is not the desired look |
| Loggialu Plano | Sleek fixed aluminum-blade design | Renson presents it as a choice for south-facing façades |
These names describe the configurations identified in Renson’s façade material. They should not be read as a promise that each option is available in every country, finish or opening size. A regional dealer must confirm the current finish schedule, panel dimensions and operating method for your project.
Outdoor Loggia options for pergolas and carports
Outdoor Loggia is listed for Renson Camargue, Camargue Skye, Algarve and Algarve Canvas pergola families. The panel frame can carry blades or screen fabric. The following distinctions are useful when developing a layout:

The Outdoor product material lists Sergé, Natté, Privacy and Mixtrim among the fabric choices. Fabric names alone do not establish a particular openness factor, glare value or heat-performance rating; request the current fabric data for the exact color and weave.
Small hardware details that affect daily use
Outdoor panels include a magnetic position lock as standard. Optional carriers can make the remaining panels follow when the first panel is moved, and an optional hook lock is available where a more positive parked or closed position is needed. The official Outdoor description says the bottom guide compensates for small level differences of up to 6 cm through Flexguide EVO. That compensation belongs to the Outdoor system and should not be generalized to every façade Loggia installation.
Compatibility is a design check, not a guess
Renson’s technical documents place limits on rail numbers, panel counts, spans and combinations with other side elements. A panel style that looks suitable in a photograph may still be unsuitable for a particular opening.

Regional example from the US technical guide
For Algarve and Algarve Canvas, the US technical document limits Outdoor Loggia to a span or pivot length of about 14 ft 9 in and two rails. Longer six-panel, three-rail layouts are limited to specified Camargue configurations. This is a regional technical rule, not a universal maximum for every Renson structure.

Construction of the Outdoor assembly
The international technical document describes an aluminum frame, top rail, separately supplied bottom rail, rollers, stoppers, position lock, carriers and Flexguide EVO. It lists 5 mm clearances at the column and top, 45 mm at the bottom and 44 mm overlap between two sliding panels. The US guide reports the equivalent dimensions in inches and states Flexguide EVO compensation up to 2 inches. These measurements apply to the Outdoor Loggia configuration documents; they are not dimensions for every façade model.
Why the host structure matters
Confirm the exact pergola family, opening location, rail count, panel arrangement, finished floor level and any interaction with other side elements. Columns, beams, drainage, screens, doors and required reinforcement can change what is physically possible. Do not assume that every blade or fabric option fits every Camargue, Camargue Skye, Algarve or Algarve Canvas opening.

A practical specification process
- Classify the opening. Decide whether the panels will shade a façade window or door, balcony, garden room, pergola or carport. Façade Loggia and Outdoor Loggia use different documentation and constraints.
- Set the visual objective. Choose a fixed screen for a stable appearance, adjustable Privacy blades for changing sightlines, or fabric when a textile surface is preferred.
- Choose the infill and finish. Compare aluminum, wood-look aluminum, specified timber blades and the available screen fabrics. Ask for physical finish and fabric samples because color and texture affect how much the screen visually recedes.
- Decide how panels should move. Establish which panels slide, where they park, whether manual use is acceptable and whether the selected model supports motorization. For Outdoor Loggia, decide if standard magnetic positioning, optional carriers or a hook lock is appropriate.
- Measure the opening and site levels. Record span, height, column positions, top and bottom clearances, floor transitions and any obstruction to the rail path. A nominal opening measurement is not enough for a final quote.
- Check the host-system rules. Match the opening to the current technical document for the pergola family and region, including rail count, panel count and permitted combinations. Apply the US limits only to a US project and use the applicable regional document elsewhere.
- Request an engineered configuration and quote. Provide the measurements, chosen style, finish, fabric, number of panels and operating preference to Renson or an authorized Renson dealer or installer. Ask them to confirm compatibility, clearances, reinforcement and the final bill of materials.
- Approve drawings before fabrication. Verify panel handing, parked position, overlap, guide locations, door swings and how the system interfaces with drainage and other screens. Custom products should not be ordered from a generic opening size.
Installation planning and site checks
The rails and guides must remain aligned over the full travel path. Before installation, identify whether the finished floor will be level, where a bottom rail can be fixed, and whether the structure can accept the specified top rail and loads. Flexguide EVO can compensate for the stated Outdoor level difference, but compensation is not a substitute for a suitable substrate or a permission to exceed the documented span and rail arrangement.
Allow the installer to verify the 5 mm column and top clearances, 45 mm bottom clearance and 44 mm overlap where those international Outdoor dimensions apply. On a US project, use the inch values in the US guide rather than converting an unrelated façade detail. If a site falls outside a standard arrangement, obtain written confirmation of the non-standard configuration and any reinforcement before work begins.
Operation, privacy and everyday decisions
Sliding access and blade adjustment solve different problems. Moving a panel away opens the entire view and passage. Keeping a panel in place but rotating Privacy blades changes the angle of light and visibility without giving up the screen. Fixed Paro, Plano or façade Loggialu panels cannot provide the same moment-to-moment adjustment, while Canvas choices depend on the selected textile’s visual openness.

Motorization may be offered for some configurations, but the product family should not be specified on the assumption that every panel is powered. Ask which exact model, size and control arrangement is supported, and how a manual override or power interruption is handled. For a manually operated Outdoor layout, carriers and a hook lock are optional hardware decisions rather than automatic features.
What the published evidence does—and does not—show
Renson’s descriptions support the use of Loggia as exterior solar screening with selectable privacy and view control. They do not establish an independent comparison of cooling performance, durability, maintenance intervals, wind resistance or energy savings. No named third-party statistic or quantified household heat-reduction result is provided in the reviewed material. Treat any percentage claim encountered elsewhere as a separate claim that requires its own test method, climate, glazing and installation conditions.
Quotes, configurators and the buying route
Loggia is presented as a custom product rather than a standard shelf item. Renson offers a brochure and quote route, and its pergola configurator can be used to save a design and send it to an official Renson Ambassador. An authorized dealer or installer is the appropriate route for checking regional availability, site measurements, rail and panel limits, finish selection, structural details and the installed price.

Outbyte PC Repair FREERepair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Outbyte Driver Updater FREEFix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Because the configuration is project-specific, a generic marketplace listing is not an honest substitute for the system. A quote should identify the host structure, panel style, fabric or blade material, finish, number of rails and panels, operating method, locks or carriers, installation scope and any required reinforcement. Keep the approved drawing with the quotation so later changes to the pergola or opening can be checked against the same constraints.
Common specification mistakes to avoid
- Assuming every style fits every opening: verify the host pergola, span, rail count and regional technical limits.
- Calling all blades private: fixed blades provide a set screen; adjustable Privacy blades provide changing control.
- Assuming every panel is motorized: confirm operation for the exact model and size.
- Using Outdoor dimensions for a façade: the 6 cm or 2 inch Flexguide figures, clearances and 44 mm overlap are Outdoor configuration data.
- Quoting energy savings as a fact: the published material contains no independent numerical energy or heat-reduction result.
- Ordering from a rough opening measurement: have an authorized professional check finished levels, rails, columns, obstructions and reinforcement.
The Bottom Line
Renson Loggia is best understood as a configurable exterior sliding screen: select fixed or adjustable blades, timber or aluminum character, or fabric, then verify the exact façade or pergola fit with current regional technical documents. Outdoor Loggia’s rail, span, clearance and level-compensation rules make a project quote and authorized installation check essential.
