What changed on the overpasses?
The City says both structures were raised by 0.6 metres—approximately two feet—to reduce the risk of damage from over-height vehicles. Work also included rebuilding the top side, refurbishing the existing foundation, and upgrading barriers and guardrails to meet modern safety standards. The City has not quantified the reduction in risk or specified a service-life extension.
Why does this corridor matter?
Albert Street North connects traffic from Regina’s Ring Road to Highways 6 and 11. In the completion announcement, Deputy City Manager Kurtis Doney described the project as an improvement to one of the city’s key transportation corridors.
