What role does the staircase play?
The staircase was redesigned and enlarged alongside the central void. In the architects’ description, it is more than a route between levels: movement on the stair can bring family members into view of one another and create casual opportunities to meet without requiring them to occupy the same room or take part in the same activity.

How do the garden and glazing shape the interior?
