New Atlas reports that it measures 118 × 42 mm and weighs 150 g. Its Kickstarter campaign has ended; the sources available here do not confirm current retail stock or delivery of Kickstarter rewards.
What can the Pivot X Clip do?
New Atlas describes the Pivot X Clip as a utility-focused everyday-carry item for securing belongings and carrying gear. The publication reports that Pivot X machines its body from a solid block of corrosion-resistant 420 stainless steel, sandblasts the surface for grip, and uses a spring-action gate intended for one-handed operation. These are reported product descriptions, not independent test results. New Atlas’s December 19, 2025 coverage lists these built-in functions:
- A folding stainless-steel knife
- A dual-sided saw
- A bottle opener and a can opener
- Hex wrenches for 4 mm, 5 mm, and 7 mm bolts
- A tungsten glass breaker
- A twist-on flashlight that detaches, produces a reported 20 lumens, and can attach to magnetic surfaces
The light’s runtime and independently measured brightness are not established in the available sources.
How large and heavy is it?
New Atlas reports a length of 4.6 inches (118 mm), a width of 1.65 inches (42 mm), and a weight of 5.3 oz (150 g). These are reported specifications, not measurements independently verified by the publication. At 150 g, it is worth comparing its carry weight with that of a simpler clip or a smaller multi-tool before choosing it for everyday carry.

Is the Pivot X Clip available to buy now?
The Kickstarter campaign for “Pivot X: Illuminated 8-Tool Carabiner for Urban & Outdoor” ran from December 17, 2025, through January 16, 2026, and is closed. Its campaign page records HK$60,011 pledged toward a HK$13,000 goal, from 124 backers. A successful funding campaign does not establish that rewards were fulfilled or that the product is now in retail stock.
New Atlas reported a planned retail price of US$59 and projected global shipping in March 2026. Those were campaign-era statements; they do not verify a current price, delivery, or place to purchase the exact product. A separate Makuake page for a related Pivot X five-function carabiner/light product reports in a May 22, 2026 update that rewards from that regional campaign had been delivered. That update concerns the Makuake campaign, not Kickstarter fulfillment or global availability of the Pivot X Clip. Makuake’s project page identifies Hong Kong Yue Sheng Trading Co., Limited as that project’s operator.

What to check before relying on it
The sources describe the Clip as a way to carry gear, but they do not provide an independently verified load rating or establish suitability for climbing, fall protection, or other life-support uses. Do not use it to support a person or critical load on the strength of the carabiner-style shape alone. For any load-bearing application, look for an explicit manufacturer rating and instructions for that exact use.
For ordinary EDC, weigh the reported 150 g carry burden against the specific tools you would use. The detachable magnetic light may be convenient, but its reported 20-lumen output alone does not establish runtime or real-world performance. Current availability and fulfillment also remain separate questions from the campaign’s funding result.
