That is close to the $100 Amazon promotion reported on May 10, 2024, but the old Amazon offer should be treated as expired unless a current retailer listing confirms it. Prices, colors, inventory and shipping can change.
The current offer applies to the standard 14-ounce Nextmug—not the larger Plus, Go or Ultra models. It is a sensible desk accessory if you sip slowly and want simple physical controls; it is less compelling if you need a leakproof travel mug, all-day battery life or exact one-degree temperature adjustment.

The original deal story, published May 10, 2024, described an Amazon price of $100 against an asserted $130 regular price. That article is historical; the verifiable price now is the manufacturer’s $99.95 listing.
Nextmug also lists an 18-ounce Plus at $129.95, a 16-ounce Go at $129.95 and a 24-ounce Ultra at $139.95. Those prices are not part of the approximately-$100 offer.

How Nextmug maintains temperature
Pour in a hot drink, choose a preset with the physical button and place the mug on its charging coaster. The mug actively maintains the selected target temperature rather than rapidly heating a cold beverage. These are three preset targets, not an infinitely adjustable range. Starting temperature, drink volume, room temperature and whether the lid is fitted affect how quickly and consistently a beverage reaches a comfortable temperature. Check the drink before sipping to avoid burns.

Button sequence
- Press once to turn the mug on at Warm, 130°F.
- Press twice to select Hot, 140°F.
- Press three times to select Piping, 150°F.
- Press four times to turn the mug off.
The official FAQ says the mug can switch off when empty or after it has not been picked up for two hours. Read the current instructions at Nextmug’s FAQ.
Battery life and the reality of desk use
The original deal coverage reported approximate untethered runtimes of up to 45 minutes at 150°F, 1.6 hours at 140°F and 2.1 hours at 130°F. Those are advertised or documented estimates, not independent test results. Battery age, ambient conditions, starting temperature, lid use and the chosen setting can change the result.

For a long work session, leave the mug on its coaster. Away from the coaster, it is portable for a limited period—not an all-day battery-powered thermos. Nextmug says its lithium-ion battery is rated for 1,000 full charges before retaining about 80% effectiveness; that is a manufacturer rating, not a promise of a particular number of years.
- The coaster is essential for continuous desk use; a lost or damaged one materially reduces the product’s usefulness.
- The embedded battery will eventually lose capacity and is not equivalent to a replaceable battery in a conventional mug.
- The included lid is described as spill-resistant, not leakproof. Do not assume the mug is suitable for a bag or commute unless current documentation explicitly says so.
Cleaning, safety and warranty points
Keep the charging coaster and electrical contacts dry, and follow the current manual for cleaning. Do not immerse the electrical components or put the mug in a microwave. Do not assume that spill-resistant means dishwasher-safe; verify whether the mug or lid may go in a dishwasher on the live instructions before cleaning that way.

Nextmug’s FAQ says warranty coverage excludes matters such as normal wear, misuse, microwave use, improper voltage or power supply, unauthorized modifications or repairs, and certain removable parts or consumables. When a conventional mug or warmer is better
Vacuum-insulated mug
A conventional insulated mug needs no battery, coaster or electrical contacts and can retain heat for a long time. It cannot actively hold a selected temperature, so a drink may remain hotter or cooler than you want. It is the better fit for low maintenance and frequent travel.
Passive mug warmer
A heated coaster can suit someone who stays at one desk and wants a lower-complexity solution. It generally requires the mug to remain on the warmer and does not provide Nextmug’s limited battery-powered portability.
Who should buy the Nextmug?
Good fit
- You drink coffee or tea slowly during desk work.
- You want to avoid microwave reheating.
- You prefer physical controls and no smartphone setup.
- 130°F, 140°F and 150°F presets cover your preferred temperatures.
- You can keep the mug on a charging coaster for long sessions.
Look elsewhere if
- You need several hours away from a charger.
- You require one-degree temperature adjustment.
- You need a genuinely leakproof travel vessel.
- Fourteen ounces is too small and you do not want to pay for a larger model.
- You expect the mug to heat cold coffee quickly.
- You want a product with no battery aging or electronic-care considerations.
Verdict
At $99.95 direct, the standard 14-ounce Nextmug is a legitimate current-price alternative to the old $100 Amazon deal. Its value comes from no-app simplicity, a charging coaster and three useful heat targets—not from unlimited portability or precision control. Buy it for a desk-centered routine; compare Ember at a similar sale price if app control and finer adjustment matter more, or choose an insulated mug if reliability without electronics is your priority.
