Neale Whitaker, Simon Cohen and Julia Green are the confirmed judges of My Reno Rules, the renovation competition hosted by Dr Chris Brown. The series aired in 2026 on Seven and 7plus, after its producer announced the panel in August 2025.

Who are the judges on My Reno Rules?

Endemol Shine Australia named the three judges in its 15 August 2025 announcement. Their experience spans interiors and design media, property buying, and interior styling.

  • Neale Whitaker is an interior-design and lifestyle authority. Endemol Shine Australia described him as having more than 15 years on Australian television and a publishing career that included Belle and Vogue Living. His television work included The Block and Love It or List It Australia. Whitaker said, “I’m thrilled to be joining a show that will truly redefine renovation TV.” (Endemol Shine Australia announcement)
  • Simon Cohen is a buyer’s agent and co-founder of Cohen Handler. The producer also cited his appearances in Dream Home and Luxe Listings Sydney. Cohen said, “I’m excited to be part of a show that’s redefining the renovation genre and transforming lives in the process.” (Endemol Shine Australia announcement)
  • Julia Green is the founder of Greenhouse Interiors. Endemol Shine Australia described her as an interiors expert and contributor to lifestyle publications. Green said, “I’m thrilled to be part of a show that puts such a fresh spin on home renovation.” (Endemol Shine Australia announcement)

What is My Reno Rules about?

Four teams compete to renovate two neighbouring rundown houses in Melbourne. The producer’s original announcement said two Australians would receive the completed homes in a live final. Seven’s June 2026 season-end release identifies the properties as side-by-side 1970s homes in Bulleen and reports the team prize and finale awards. Dr Chris Brown hosts the series. Endemol Shine Australia produced it for Seven, with international distribution by Banijay Rights. (Endemol Shine Australia announcement)

Did the show air, and how did its first season perform?

Yes. The August 2025 announcement said the show would arrive in 2026; that schedule is now historical, and the debut season aired in 2026. Apple TV Australia lists it as a 2026 reality series, while Seven’s June 2026 release reports the season’s reach and viewing figures. (Apple TV Australia listing; Seven season-end release)

Seven reported that the season reached 5.3 million Australians and averaged 755,000 total TV viewers, including 199,000 7plus viewers. Those are broadcaster-reported, season-specific figures; Seven said its release drew on VOZ 5.0 audience and reach data and Cons7 timeslot comparisons.

Seven also reported that the grand finale reached 1.5 million Australians and had a national total TV audience of 719,000. Its release says the winning renovation team received $1 million and two Australians collected $2 million each in prize money. Seven noted that the finale results were preliminary. These figures are Seven’s reports, not independent audience measurements.

Seven Chief Content Officer Brook Hall described the result as evidence that “Australian audiences love nothing more than a great renovation, a genuine competition and a life-changing moment.” That is Hall’s assessment in Seven’s season-end release, alongside the broadcaster’s reported reach figure.
