Start Milnor washer troubleshooting by matching the machine’s full model and controller to the correct manual. Error messages can narrow the possibilities, but they do not identify a failed part on their own. Check visible water-supply or drain conditions only when safe; leave electrical and internal repairs to qualified service personnel.
Identify the washer and controller first
Before using a fault list, record the washer’s full model, controller name, exact displayed message, and when the problem occurs. Use Milnor’s manuals and documents by model to find the matching operator or reference guide. A manual for another product line or control may describe different behavior.

For example, Milnor’s MWR reference manual applies to MWR washer-extractors with the E-P OneTouch control. It directs readers to separate manuals for installation requirements, preventive maintenance and mechanical parts, and electrical parts and troubleshooting. It also notes that some control-board details vary by market. C_E machines use a distinct electronic seven-formula control, while T_E/G_E material also describes E-P OneTouch; neither example makes MWR instructions universal. The listed documents include older publications, so confirm the applicable revision with Milnor or a dealer using the machine’s model and serial information. [Milnor manuals and documents by model]
How to use a Milnor washer error message
Milnor’s Troubleshooting and Performance Analysis manual says, “The following are error messages the controller can issue, possible causes, and solutions.” That section is specific to the applicable MilTouch control documentation, not a universal list of codes for every Milnor washer. A message is a clue to a condition; multiple causes may produce the same condition. [Milnor documentation]
#1 Best Overall
- This is a genuine OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) part.
- Use genuine OEM parts for safety reliability and performance.
For an unfamiliar message, consult the model- and controller-matched manual rather than trying a code found for another machine. Note whether the washer stopped, whether the message appeared during filling, draining, or a door operation, and whether the condition changes. Do not defeat a door interlock or continue operation contrary to the manual.
“Too Long to Fill”: checks and likely causes
MilTouch documentation identifies several possible causes of a “Too Long to Fill” condition:
Rank #2
- Package Dimensions: 12.2 L x 7 H x 8 W (inches)
- Package Weight: 2.6 pounds
- Country of Origin : United States
- Part Number: 96P060B71
- The configured fill-error time may be too short for the conditions.
- Water pressure or available volume may be low.
- A water valve or its control circuit may be malfunctioning.
If it is safe, check for an obvious supply interruption or closed supply valve, and note whether the supply appears weak. Do not change the fill-error setting without the correct model documentation: the appropriate setting depends on the machine and installation. Valve, control-circuit, or other electrical checks should follow the machine’s schematic and be handled by qualified personnel. [Milnor documentation]
“Too Long to Drain”: blockage, sensing, or valve
Milnor’s MilTouch material lists a blocked drain pipe, a blocked transducer tube, and drain-valve or solenoid malfunction among the possible causes of a “Too Long to Drain” message. Where the problem is slow draining, the manual notes that the error may clear and the formula resume once the sensed water level falls to its target. That behavior does not establish that a recurring slow-drain fault is resolved.
Look only for an accessible, obvious obstruction in the drain path if you can do so safely and in accordance with the operator manual. The transducer tube, drain valve, solenoid, and associated electrical components require model-specific diagnosis; do not dismantle or electrically test them as an operator shortcut. [Milnor documentation]
“Door Opened” and other door-status messages
A door-status message should be treated as a safety condition, not an invitation to bypass the interlock. Confirm that the door is closed as the operator manual directs. If the message persists, or the door will not safely latch or release, stop and contact qualified service. The MilTouch error material gives possible causes and remedies for door-related errors, but the correct procedure depends on the control and machine. [Milnor documentation]

When to stop and call for service
Some faults stop operation until the cause is corrected, and correction may require a maintenance or chemical technician. Electrical troubleshooting is a separate, schematic-led task; avoid energized electrical work and internal repairs unless you are qualified and following the correct service documentation.
- Stop if the manual directs you to, if a safety device or door is not behaving correctly, or if there is a leak, unusual electrical condition, or other unsafe symptom.
- Contact service when a message persists after the operator-level checks allowed by the manual, recurs, or points to a valve, sensor tube, control circuit, or internal component.
- Give the technician the model, serial information, control name, exact message, and the point in the cycle when it appeared.
Milnor provides a dealer locator for service and parts inquiries and a contact page with technical-support information.
