Posha is a countertop cooking robot that automates much of the active stovetop work, not the entire journey from groceries to dinner. You select a recipe in the companion app, wash and prepare the ingredients, load its dedicated pan and containers, and let the machine manage programmed additions, heat and stirring. You still shop, chop when required, load and unload the appliance, serve the food and clean up.
That distinction matters when evaluating a device priced at $1,500 on Posha’s advertised limited-time U.S. offer (the listed regular price is $1,750). The company presents Posha as a “private robot chef” that lets you walk away during cooking, but it is better understood as an automated stovetop assistant than as a general-purpose kitchen robot.
What Posha is
Posha is a countertop appliance built around a dedicated cooking pan, motorized stirring hardware, ingredient containers, a camera and software controlled through the Posha Companion app. Posha describes the system as using visual cooking intelligence, contact-temperature sensing, automatic ingredient timing, heat adjustment and controlled stirring. Those are company-described capabilities; the available material does not independently establish that every recipe performs consistently in every home kitchen.
The intended use is narrow and practical: prepare the ingredients, load the machine and let it handle the hands-on cooking stage. It is not documented as a robot that shops independently, retrieves food, washes produce, performs all knife work or cleans the kitchen.

How a Posha meal works
- Choose a recipe. The app lets you search the recipe collection or enter available pantry items for suggestions, according to Posha’s first-recipe instructions.
- Prepare the ingredients. Buy or obtain the food, wash produce, and chop, slice, press or portion it to the recipe’s directions.
- Load the system. Put ingredients in the specified containers, add the pan, spices, oil and water as directed, and attach the appropriate spatulas or extended arm.
- Start cooking. Posha follows the recipe sequence, adding ingredients at programmed points while adjusting heat and stirring.
- Serve and clean. Remove the finished food, then wash the pan and the parts used for cooking.
“Walk away” therefore describes the cooking interval after setup. It does not mean the appliance can turn untouched groceries into a plated meal without preparation.
What the robot automates
Posha says its camera observes cooking stages and its software uses visual information to guide decisions. The company also describes contact-temperature sensing, automatic ingredient dispensing, heat control and adjustable stirring speed and rhythm in its Culinary AI explanation and AI cooking article.
These features can reduce the need to stand over a pan, stir continuously or remember exactly when to add the next component. They should not be read as proof of unrestricted culinary reasoning. A recipe-driven appliance can still be affected by incorrect cuts, substitutions, unusual ingredient quantities, power interruptions or other conditions outside its programmed assumptions.

Posha advertises more than 1,000 recipes, with examples including shakshuka, mac and cheese, Kung Pao tofu, beef stew, aloo gobi, barbecue chicken wings, spaghetti bolognese, butter chicken, beef and broccoli, and sweet corn soup. Categories listed by the company include vegetarian, vegan, kid-friendly, high-protein, low-carb, quick meals, slow-cooked dishes and desserts.
The headline library count is not the same as the free out-of-box selection. Posha’s purchase page says the device includes 50 recipes, while the company’s membership terms say Posha Circle unlocks the full library. The 1,000-plus figure is therefore a company claim and may include variations or recipes available only to members.
What you still have to do
- Shop for ingredients and store them safely.
- Wash produce and handle raw meat according to normal food-safety practice.
- Perform the knife work and other preparation a recipe requires.
- Measure or portion ingredients and load the correct containers.
- Check substitutions and monitor unusual results rather than assuming every change is safe.
- Plate and serve the meal.
- Wash the pan, utensils, containers and relevant attachments.
Ingredient preparation can be a substantial part of total recipe time. The practical benefit is usually fewer minutes of active stovetop attention, not zero kitchen labor.

Price, reservation and membership
Posha’s U.S. purchase page, checked for this article on August 18, 2026, lists the following terms:
| Item | Current stated detail |
|---|---|
| Regular listed device price | $1,750 |
| Advertised limited-time price | $1,500 |
| Reservation deposit | $25, described as refundable; the remaining balance is due when the product ships |
| Shipping market | United States |
| Next stated batch | September 2026; an estimate, not a guaranteed arrival date |
| Return/home-trial claims | 30 days, as described on the purchase and support pages |
The $1,500 figure is not an all-in delivered cost. Groceries, optional membership, accessories, taxes and any shipping charges may add to the total; the available product information does not calculate the final delivered price for every U.S. customer.
Is a subscription required?
No. Posha’s membership terms say all owners retain access to free Essential recipes and Co-Pilot mode without membership. Posha Circle provides access to the broader recipe library at $14.95 per month or $139.95 per year, with a stated 90-day free trial for new members. Paying monthly for 12 months would cost $179.40, making the listed annual plan $39.45 cheaper over a full year.
If a payment method is on file, the trial converts to the selected paid plan unless it is canceled under the membership terms. Review the current cancellation mechanics before starting the trial. See the Posha Circle membership terms and Posha’s subscription support article.
What is included?
| Included with the device | Optional add-ons or services |

Posha describes the pan as three-ply stainless steel, PFOA-free and dishwasher-safe. The available page does not establish whether the scale is required for every recipe, whether stirring arms and spice pods are dishwasher-safe, or what replacement parts cost.

What Posha should not replace
Do not assume Posha substitutes for an oven, pressure cooker, grill, deep fryer, blender or food processor. The purchase-page FAQ raises pressure-cooking questions, including dishes such as lentils, but the available material does not show the answer. Meals requiring extensive knife work, delicate last-minute handling, baking, grilling or pressure cooking may remain better suited to conventional equipment.
Serving capacity is another unresolved buying question. The product page asks how many people Posha can serve but does not display an answer in the available information. Confirm pan capacity, typical servings, sequential-batch limits and whether larger quantities change timing before reserving—especially if you cook for a large household.

Substitutions, allergies and food safety
Posha advertises spice adjustments, dietary and allergen preferences, ingredient swaps, recipe requests and pantry-based discovery. Any substitution can change moisture, cooking time, texture or food-safety requirements. An allergen-aware recipe setting is not a guarantee of allergen-free preparation: users must verify labels, prevent cross-contact and clean equipment appropriately.
You remain responsible for washing produce, storing ingredients, handling raw meat and confirming that food reaches a safe temperature. The available sources do not provide independent food-safety validation for the appliance.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesApp and connectivity
The Posha Companion listing in Apple’s App Store says the app supports a live camera view, real-time cooking progress, grocery ordering, recipe requests, recipe discovery and cooking control. The available information does not establish current Android support, account and Wi-Fi requirements, offline cooking behavior, or exactly which failures generate alerts. Ask those questions before purchase if your kitchen has unreliable connectivity.
Cleaning and day-to-day ownership
Posha markets the product as easy to clean and identifies the pan and containers as dishwasher-safe where specified. In practice, ownership also depends on residue around moving parts, splatter, the cleaning method for stirring hardware and spice pods, and whether the pan is sold separately. Posha’s FAQ specifically raises smoke alarms, splattering and cleaning, but the available page does not show its answers.
Who should consider Posha?
Likely good fit
- Households that dislike active stovetop work but still want to buy and prepare fresh ingredients.
- People who regularly cook recipes in Posha’s supported library.
- Users with counter space for a dedicated appliance and a budget of roughly $1,500 to $1,750 before extras.
- Buyers who value reduced supervision more than minute-by-minute control over seasoning and texture.
Likely poor fit
- Large households needing confirmed family-size batches.
- Cooks whose meals center on baking, grilling, pressure cooking, blending or deep frying.
- People who enjoy hands-on cooking or expect one appliance to perform all preparation.
- Anyone unwilling to prepare ingredients, clean equipment or potentially pay for a recipe subscription.
- Households with strict cross-contamination requirements that demand complete control over every surface and process.
Questions to answer before reserving
- What is the maximum pan capacity and typical serving count?
- What warranty applies, and how are repairs and replacement parts handled?
- What happens after a power or Wi-Fi interruption?
- Can a recipe be paused, skipped, restarted or finished manually?
- What are shipping charges, taxes and the exact return conditions?
- Which attachments are dishwasher-safe, and how long does normal cleanup take?
- What do replacement pans and accessories cost?
- What recipe access remains after canceling Posha Circle?
- How are allergens and arbitrary ingredient substitutions validated?
Alternatives
A conventional multicooker, slow cooker or smart thermometer costs less and has a longer-established ownership model, though it generally will not add ingredients, inspect food visually or stir through a complete recipe automatically. A Thermomix-style platform such as Thermomix USA is aimed at chopping, blending, weighing, steaming, kneading and cooking in one appliance, with a different balance of automation and interaction. Meal kits such as HelloFresh reduce planning and shopping but still require active cooking. Prepared-meal delivery minimizes kitchen labor further, at the cost of less control over freshness, ingredients and portions.
Posha’s value depends on frequency. At this price, it is difficult to justify for occasional use; it becomes more plausible for a household that repeatedly wants supported, home-cooked meals with less active stovetop attention and is comfortable with the preparation and cleanup that remain.

The Bottom Line
Bottom line: Posha is an expensive automation appliance for the cooking stage—not a robot that replaces the kitchen. Reserve it only after confirming capacity, connectivity, cleaning, support and subscription details, and only if reducing active stovetop labor is worth the $1,500–$1,750 hardware cost to you.
