Some models use Up/Down controls, a Smart Dial, or a touch-screen settings menu instead. Match the instructions below to your control panel and use your exact model manual when the labels differ.
Before you start
- Identify whether you have a standard range, Smart Dial range, or touch-screen built-in wall oven.
- Use the appliance’s current local time and check whether the display is set to 12-hour or 24-hour format.
- For model-specific instructions, use Samsung’s official clock-setting guide and download your manual from Samsung Support.
Standard range with a Clock button or icon
- Press Clock once. Do not hold the button; Samsung says a long press on some models opens Settings instead.
- Select AM or PM if prompted. Press Clock again to cycle to the correct choice. Skip this step when the range uses a 24-hour display or shows no AM/PM option.
- Enter the hours and minutes. Depending on the model, use the number pad or Up/Down controls. Samsung’s example for 1:30 is 1, 3, 0.
- Save the time. Press Clock or START/SET. If you make an error before saving, press Clear and start again.
Smart Dial ranges
- Tap Menu (the horizontal-lines icon).
- Use the dial to select Set time.
- Turn the dial to enter the time, then push the dial to confirm.
To change between 12-hour and 24-hour display, open Menu > Time format. Samsung says two minutes without control-panel activity activates Sleep mode; push or turn the dial to wake the controls.

- For manual entry, disable automatic setting, then choose the time zone and enter the date and time.
Samsung notes that the wall-oven time display can turn off after one hour of inactivity to reduce screen energy use. This behavior is separate from setting the clock.

How Samsung model families differ

These are examples rather than universal instructions. Button names, entry controls, and confirmation steps vary by model family.
If the clock will not set
- The controls do nothing: wake a Smart Dial from Sleep mode by turning or pushing the dial.
- You cannot find AM/PM: the appliance may use a 24-hour display, or the model may require another Clock press to reveal the choice.
- Your entry is wrong: press Clear and re-enter the hours and minutes before confirming.
- The panel looks unlike these examples: stop rather than guessing. Search Samsung Support by the full model number and follow that model’s manual.
Why the correct time matters
Samsung says an accurate clock is needed for automatic functions such as delayed cooking and Sabbath mode to operate properly. After a power outage, reset the clock before relying on either feature.

Samsung Canada says its guidance applies to ranges sold in Canada and that available settings may vary for products sold in other countries.
