Live Home 3D Pro for Windows is legitimate home-design software from BeLight Software, and the official Windows version is distributed through Microsoft Store. It requires Windows 10 or later. The safest route is to install the app from Microsoft Store rather than downloading a third-party “portable” or cracked installer.
Pro is a paid Windows edition with advanced building, terrain, rendering and export tools. A Windows purchase is separate from purchases made for Mac, iPhone, iPad, Android or visionOS.

Free, Standard and Pro editions
The free Windows app is useful for testing the workflow, but it has restrictions on active projects, exported image and video watermarks, and 3D-model export. Standard removes some basic restrictions. Pro adds the advanced design and export features and is described by the developer as the unrestricted paid version.
| Need | Free | Pro |
|---|---|---|
| Test the interface and basic room layouts | Suitable, with restrictions | Yes |
| Watermark-free exports | Limited | Yes |
| 2D elevation views | Restricted | Yes |
| Advanced roofs, dormers and building tools | Limited | Yes |
| Terrain editing | Limited | Yes |
| High-resolution stills and video | Lower limits | Higher limits |
| FBX, OBJ and glTF/GLB export | Restricted | Yes |
| Full Cycles rendering functionality | Restricted | Yes |
Pro is easiest to justify for multi-story homes, complex roofs, landscaping, elevation drawings, high-resolution presentations or projects that must continue in another 3D application.

What Live Home 3D Pro can do
Floor plans and building design
You can draw straight or curved walls, rooms and smart dimensions, then add multiple stories, roofs, lofts, dormers, balconies, porches, niches, openings and building blocks. The developer advertises 12 customizable roof templates and 16 customizable dormers. Pro also adds terrain editing and more advanced building controls.
2D, elevation and 3D views
The main workflow combines a measured 2D plan with real-time 3D visualization. Use 2D Plan to establish the footprint, 2D Elevation to inspect vertical wall details, and 3D view to review the space from cameras or walkthrough positions.

The Windows specifications list more than 2,400 objects and 2,100 materials, plus access to Trimble 3D Warehouse. Supported imports include COLLADA, FBX, OBJ, SH3D and 3DS. These are publisher-supplied library counts, not a guarantee that every object is manufacturer-accurate or equally detailed.
Rendering
Use real-time 3D for layout decisions and the offline Cycles renderer for final still images. Cycles supports CPU rendering and available GPU devices, but performance depends on hardware, drivers, scene complexity and output resolution. Start with a modest resolution while testing materials and lighting.

When a project becomes slow, reduce imported-model complexity and use the Level of Details control where appropriate. It can reduce vertices, triangles and project size.
A practical project workflow
- Create or import the plan. Use Room, Straight Wall or Arc Wall tools. You can also import a scanned or photographed plan as a tracing reference.
- Calibrate the scale. Match one known wall length, door width or room dimension before furnishing. A photographed or incorrectly printed plan may not be accurately scaled.
- Add fixed elements first. Place doors, windows, stairs, plumbing fixtures, cabinets and structural elements before decorating.
- Build upward. Add floors, ceilings, roofs, dormers and terrain after the basic footprint is correct.
- Furnish and apply materials. Start with the built-in catalog, then import specific models if necessary. Check scale, orientation, textures and polygon complexity.
- Light and inspect. Adjust light color and intensity, review the project in real-time 3D and save cameras for repeatable comparisons.
- Export the right deliverable. Print or export a 2D plan, create stills or walkthroughs for presentation, or export a 3D model for external software.
Save milestone versions such as kitchen-layout-v1, kitchen-layout-v2-island and whole-house-pre-render. The Windows menus support Save and Save As to local storage or OneDrive.
Exporting images, video and 3D models
The Windows menu includes Export > Export 3D View…, Export > Record Video, Export > Export 3D Objects…, Export > Share and Print.
- Images: PNG, JPEG, TIFF and BMP. The listed maximum is 2,048 × 1,536 for non-Pro and up to 16,384 × 16,384 for Pro.
- Panoramas and video: 360-degree panoramas, walkthrough videos, stereo 3D video and 360-degree video are supported; Pro offers higher-resolution output, with limits varying by export type.
- 3D models: COLLADA, VRML and X3D are available formats; FBX, OBJ and glTF/GLB are Pro formats according to the Windows documentation.
To export a model, select one object if required, activate the desired floor when exporting a floor, or leave everything unselected to export the entire project. Then choose Export > Export 3D Objects…, select the format and source, enable supported cameras, lights, terrain or texture options, and save the file.

Windows requirements and performance
The reviewed official documentation confirms Windows 10 or later. It does not provide one simple, universal minimum RAM, CPU or GPU specification, so those numbers should not be invented.
Complex projects, detailed imported models and high-resolution Cycles renders require more processing power, memory, storage and graphics capability than a simple room layout. Close other GPU-intensive applications, save before long renders and test with a lower resolution first.

The Store button is missing
Check whether you are signed into Microsoft Store, whether the device runs a supported Windows version, and whether the listing is available in your Store region. A web listing may also need to be opened in the Microsoft Store app. Store cache, account synchronization, pending updates or device restrictions can also affect availability. Changing region settings is not a guaranteed fix and can affect purchases.
Pro does not appear after purchase
- Confirm that Microsoft Store is signed into the purchasing account.
- Check that the transaction completed rather than remaining pending.
- Restart Microsoft Store and Live Home 3D.
- Check the app’s Store area for purchased features.
- Contact BeLight support or Microsoft Store support if ownership remains unrecognized.
Do not assume that a Mac-style license code is required for Windows; the developer’s license-code guidance is associated with the Mac download process.

Microsoft Store will not install the app
Possible causes include account mismatch, an unsupported Windows version, Store cache problems, regional availability, pending updates, insufficient storage or device restrictions. The developer’s support page links to Microsoft’s current Store troubleshooting guidance.
An imported model is invisible or the wrong size
Check the model’s units, scale, orientation and elevation. It may be hidden inside another object or missing texture paths. Try a simpler version and reduce polygon complexity if navigation slows down. Format support does not guarantee that every third-party file will import perfectly.

Is Live Home 3D Pro suitable for construction planning?
It is a strong fit for homeowners, remodelers, interior-design hobbyists, students and small design businesses that need an approachable floor-plan-to-3D workflow. It can visualize interiors, exteriors, roofs, terrain, materials, lighting and furniture without requiring a full professional BIM package.
It is not a replacement for stamped architectural drawings, structural calculations, building-code review, quantity takeoffs or professional construction documents. Use it to explore and communicate design ideas, then have regulated construction information prepared or reviewed by the appropriate professionals.
Alternatives by workflow
- Sweet Home 3D: a simpler, traditional home-layout option.
- Planner 5D: a more web- and mobile-oriented, template-driven experience.
- SketchUp: a broader general-purpose 3D modeling ecosystem, but less specialized for house planning.
- Home Designer or Chief Architect: more construction- and architecture-oriented tools for users who need deeper documentation workflows and can accept a steeper learning curve.
Bottom line
Download Live Home 3D Pro for Windows through Microsoft Store, verify the account and edition before buying, and treat the Store listing as the authoritative source for current availability, price and build. Choose the free edition to test the workflow, Standard for basic restriction removal, and Pro when you need advanced roofs, terrain, elevation views, high-resolution output or FBX, OBJ and glTF workflows. For permit-ready construction documentation or structural design, use it alongside—not instead of—professional architectural and engineering services.
