Yes, LG really unveiled a microwave with a 27-inch touchscreen. But the product is not a new 2026 retail launch: LG announced the LG SIGNATURE Smart InstaView Over-the-Range Microwave on December 29, 2024, ahead of CES 2025. As of August 18, 2026, LG’s official material does not establish a verified U.S. retail price, model number, purchase page, or shipping date.
In other words, the microwave is real, but readers should treat it as a premium smart-kitchen showcase—not as an ordinary appliance they can confidently order today.

The most useful feature may be the appliance coordination. If the microwave is paired with the relevant LG induction range, the display can show cooking-progress information without requiring the user to walk over to the range.
That is different from saying the microwave has every streaming service, runs a particular operating system, or functions like a full smart TV. LG also sells or promotes a separate 27-inch touchscreen entertainment display called StanbyME 2. That is a portable display, not a microwave. It cannot replace the microwave’s cooking function or over-the-range ventilation, and it should not be used as evidence that the touchscreen microwave is available as a retail appliance. Readers who want a currently documented LG over-the-range microwave should look at conventional models rather than wait for an unpriced showcase product.

Neither model provides the 27-inch entertainment display. They are simply examples of LG microwaves with documented retail specifications and purchase paths.
