The claim that Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi broke ground on October 10, 2026, for a Sh9 million dormitory at Kaimosi Comprehensive Special School, designed for 166 learners, is not independently confirmed by the available sources. Those details should be treated as claims in the headline, not established facts.
What is known about the claimed project?
The available sources do not confirm that the groundbreaking took place, that the institution is officially named Kaimosi Comprehensive Special School, or that the project costs Sh9 million and will accommodate 166 learners. They also do not establish a construction schedule or completion date. No statement from Mudavadi, a school official or another named speaker about this specific event was located.

How does this differ from a reported Friends School-Kaimosi project?
Two 2026 reports describe infrastructure and learner needs at institutions named Friends Special School-Kaimosi or Friends Kaimosi Special School. The sources do not establish that either is the same institution as Kaimosi Comprehensive Special School, so the projects and figures should not be combined.

What would verify the headline’s details?
A primary announcement or on-record project document from the Prime Cabinet Secretary’s office, the school, Vihiga County or education authorities would be needed to confirm the central claims. It should identify the school by its official name and clarify whether it is distinct from Friends Special School-Kaimosi; confirm the date and Mudavadi’s role; state the cost and funding source; specify planned capacity; and give a construction or completion schedule.
Until those details are confirmed, the Sh9 million cost, 166-learner capacity and October 10 groundbreaking should remain attributed claims rather than reported facts.
