The proposed renovation would add private offices and meeting rooms, update lighting, remove unused radiators and refinish wood floors. Seattle’s Landmarks Preservation Board approval was still required at the time of that report, so the work should be described as proposed—not approved or complete.
What JTM is planning
The expansion would bring JTM into the General Office building at 6010 Airport Way South in Georgetown. The Seattle Daily Journal of Commerce reported that the project would add 5,549 square feet to the company’s office footprint. SHKS Architects designed the tenant improvements, and JTM would carry out the construction.

The reported interior work includes:
- Adding partitions in the Main Hall to create private offices and meeting rooms.
- Installing light fixtures.
- Removing radiators that are no longer in use.
- Refinishing the wood floors.
JTM president Ben Coffman described the move as an opportunity to expand as the company grows while occupying a space connected to Georgetown’s history.

This is an expansion within the brewery complex, not a first move to Georgetown. JTM moved its headquarters from Seattle’s International District to Georgetown in 2022. Its office was in a separate tilt-up concrete building added to the complex’s historic Brew House in 2014; the company occupied about 12,700 square feet there, according to the March 4, 2026 report.

The General Office and Brew House are distinct buildings. The proposed expansion would place JTM in the General Office, across from its existing Brew House office. The project is at the historic Georgetown complex, not the newer north Rainier brewery near the West Seattle and I-5 ramps.
Why the building’s landmark status matters
The General Office dates to 1910 and is part of the historic brewery buildings designated a Seattle Historic Landmark in 1993. The complex was built for Seattle Brewing and Malting Co. in the early 1900s and later housed Rainier Beer. Reported surviving interior details include wood wainscoting, paneled doors and carved ceiling beams.

Because the proposed work is in a landmarked building, the March 4 report said the Seattle Landmarks Preservation Board needed to approve it before construction could begin. That requirement makes the approval status an important distinction: a proposed tenant improvement is not evidence that the work has been authorized or started.
What is known about timing and status
As of the Daily Journal of Commerce report dated March 4, 2026, board approval was still pending. The available reporting does not establish whether approval was later granted, whether construction began, or whether the renovation has been completed. It also does not state a construction schedule or project cost.
