Start with John Deere’s official Manuals & Training page to find technical manuals, operator manuals and parts catalogs. A third-party listing identifies a 310K repair technical manual as TM12436, and an indexed excerpt shows substantial transmission service coverage—but neither the listing nor the excerpt establishes that a particular copy is official, complete or applicable to every 310K. Confirm the publication and your machine’s serial-number range and configuration before using it for a repair or torque specification.
Where to get the John Deere 310K service manual
John Deere says its Manuals & Training service lets readers download, view and purchase operator and technical manuals and parts catalogs, including publications for construction and forestry equipment. Use the official page as the starting point, then follow its online publications route to search for the 310K manual that matches your machine.
A third-party product page identifies a “John Deere 310K Repair Technical Manual” as publication TM12436. Treat that identifier as a lead to verify in Deere’s catalog, not proof that the seller’s copy is an official Deere publication or covers your serial range. The listing does not establish completeness, revision, language or machine applicability. View the third-party listing.
What the indexed excerpt says about transmission repair
An indexed shared excerpt contains a transmission section with procedures for removal and installation, controls linkage, gear shafts, powershift clutches and hydraulic-system work. It also includes specifications and specialized service equipment. That is evidence of the topics represented in the excerpt, not confirmation that the document is an authoritative, complete manual for a specific 310K.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteThe excerpt names a 10-ton shop stand, a low-lift transmission jack and a JDG820 flywheel turning tool. The tool listing and compatibility were not independently verified. Consult the correct Deere publication for required equipment, lifting points and safety procedures before undertaking this work. How to verify a manual before relying on it
- Check the source. Search Deere’s official publications catalog first. If considering a third-party copy, compare its publication identifier with Deere’s catalog rather than relying on the seller’s title alone.
- Match the machine. Confirm the manual’s stated model and serial-number coverage against the machine identification information. Do not assume every 310K has the same transmission or configuration.
- Confirm the publication details. Check the edition or revision, language and whether the file or book is complete. Those details are not established by the third-party listing or indexed excerpt.
- Check the format and contents. Verify whether the offering is a PDF or print copy and whether it contains the sections you need, including transmission procedures, specifications and relevant illustrations.
- Use the applicable procedure. Follow the Deere publication covering your serial range and configuration, including its safety instructions and tool requirements. Do not substitute an excerpt or an unverified listing for the full applicable manual.
Transmission fastener and screw specifications
The excerpt reports 73 N·m (54 lb-ft) for transmission-to-flywheel-housing cap screws and gives the same value for flexplate-to-flywheel cap screws. It also reports an approximate transmission weight of 247 kg (545 lb). These are values visible in the shared excerpt; its original publisher and publication-year metadata were not confirmed, and the figures have not been independently verified for every 310K configuration. Check the excerpt, then verify the relevant specification in the correct Deere manual before applying it.
Rank #2
Do not treat a matching model name or a copied specification as enough to establish applicability. Confirm the fastener location, procedure, serial-number range and machine configuration in the applicable publication; a torque value for one joint does not automatically apply to another.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. What to compare when more than one manual is offered
- Authenticity: whether the source is Deere or a seller whose publication details can be checked against Deere’s catalog.
- Coverage: 310K model and serial-number range, and any relevant configuration distinctions.
- Publication details: identifier, edition or revision and language.
- Completeness: whether the manual includes the needed repair sections, specifications and illustrations.
- Format: PDF or print, and what the seller actually supplies.
The available information does not establish multiple verified, equivalent editions to rank. When details are missing, confirm them with Deere or the seller before paying or relying on the manual.
