Jeddah Tower is planned to rise more than 1,000 meters (3,280 feet) in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. It is still under construction: the latest dated progress report in the cited project sources, from 31 July 2026, put it at 430 meters with its 106th floor complete. That is a construction milestone, not the tower’s current live height.

Architect Adrian Smith + Gordon Gill Architecture describes a planned height of more than 1,000 meters (3,280 feet). The figure is a design target, not a measurement of the structure as it stands. The supplied title’s “three Eiffel Towers” comparison is not verified by the project sources cited here, so it should be treated as a metaphor rather than a confirmed height calculation.
How much of Jeddah Tower has been built?
Two project-team updates provide dated milestones. Dar Al-Handasah reported 430 meters and completion of the 106th floor on 31 July 2026. Earlier, on 20 April 2026, structural engineer Thornton Tomasetti reported that construction had passed 100 floors and 400 meters. Saudi Binladin Group identifies itself as the main construction contractor, Jeddah Economic Company as the client, and the project as “Under construction.” The cited sources do not establish a completion date. Saudi Binladin Group’s project page
Why is the tower shaped like three rising petals?
The architect describes a slender, subtly asymmetrical form inspired by leaves rising from the ground. Its three-petal footprint supports residential layouts, while wings taper as they rise. The architect says this taper helps reduce wind-related structural loading associated with vortex shedding—a wind effect that can cause tall buildings to sway or experience fluctuating forces.

Notches in the façade are intended to create shaded pockets and outdoor terraces. The form therefore serves more than an aesthetic role: it combines the project’s spatial plans with a strategy for managing wind at extreme height. What engineering supports a kilometer-scale tower?
Thornton Tomasetti describes a concrete-based structural system designed to address rational wind loads at extreme elevations and building movement over time. The firm says the design uses construction practices and concrete strengths common in the region.

The foundation described by the structural engineer consists of a 5-meter-thick raft supported by 270 bored piles. Each pile is 1.8 meters in diameter and reaches depths of up to 105 meters. The project is designed as a mix of residential, office, hospitality, and retail uses. The architect describes a luxury hotel, serviced apartments, condominiums, offices, and a public sky terrace at level 157, roughly 30 meters in diameter. The terrace is planned as part of the building; it is not an open visitor attraction while the tower is under construction.

The architect’s design description lists 59 elevators—54 single-deck and five double-deck—and 12 escalators. It says elevators serving the observatory are designed to travel at 10 meters per second.
