Architectural Digest described a rebuilt, two-story residence with Parisian-villa influences, sculptural stonework and a strong connection between the kitchen and backyard. The details below reflect that 2022 coverage; available sources do not establish whether Mendes still owns or occupies the property.
What was reported about the home
Architectural Digest reported that Mendes bought the Beverly Grove property for $4.6 million in November 2022. The publication described it as a 3,880-square-foot, two-story house with five bedrooms and six bathrooms. A transaction listing also records the $4.6 million sale and 3,880 square feet, with a 6,271-square-foot lot; a contemporaneous agent post rounds the home’s living area to 4,000 square feet. For the interior area, 3,880 square feet is the more precise figure reported by Architectural Digest.
Architectural Digest says the house was originally built in 1974 and rebuilt in 2022, with design by West Hollywood firm House of Shoor. These are reported details, not independently verified permit history. The sources do not establish the home’s current owner, occupancy, or condition.
How the design moves from exterior to interior
Parisian-villa references and a restrained palette
The exterior is described as having a mansard roof. Inside, Architectural Digest characterizes the design as a minimal European aesthetic inspired by Parisian villas, with marble, creamy hand-applied plaster, elaborate stonework, and warm-toned wood and stone tile. Those descriptions convey the reported look; the coverage does not specify brands or independently verify particular material products.

A sculptural kitchen and an open route outdoors
The kitchen’s focal point is an island with curved edges and a hand-pleated French-clay finish. Nearby, a custom sliding glass-and-steel door opens toward the backyard, making the connection between interior and exterior part of the home’s design rather than a separate afterthought.
Curves, stone and a formal dining room
Architectural Digest and the listing photos show a curved staircase, a formal dining room with a sputnik-style chandelier and Jeanneret dining chairs, and a living area with a floor-to-ceiling white marble fireplace and curved brown couch. The coverage does not identify product models for the furnishings.
What the yard and guest house add
Reported outdoor features include a zero-edge pool, a grassy yard and tall Italian cypress trees. Architectural Digest says the trees lend privacy, though the sources provide no independent measurement of how much screening they create. The property also includes a guest house that the listing described as “cathedral-style.” Like the main house, it has custom sliding glass-and-steel doors, according to Architectural Digest.

The figures and design details are a snapshot of coverage around the 2022 purchase. Architectural Digest provides the detailed description and attributes purchase information to Dirt; Traded’s transaction page records the sale details, while Contempo Realtors’ contemporaneous post uses a rounded living-area figure. None of these sources establishes present-day ownership or occupancy, and they do not document later changes to the property.
