LeBron James’s second Brentwood residence was reported as a newly built, 15,846-square-foot mansion purchased in 2017 for $23 million through an LLC linked to him. The Los Angeles Times account describes eight bedrooms, 9.5 bathrooms and a home built for entertaining, with a theater, wine cellar, spa, pool and city-to-ocean views. Later coverage differs on both the purchase price and bathroom count, so those figures should be read with their sources attached.

Which LeBron James home is this?

This is James’s second Brentwood residence, not the earlier Brentwood house that was listed for sale in 2021 and not his separate Beverly Hills purchase in 2020. The Los Angeles Times reported in 2017 that an LLC linked to James bought the newly built home, with the transaction reflected in property records. The property had been a vacant lot that sold for $5.1 million two years earlier, according to the Times.

What is inside the Brentwood mansion?

The Times described a residence set above the street with views stretching from the city toward the ocean. Its reported design and amenities suggest a layout that balances private living with large-scale entertaining.

Living spaces and entertaining

  • An elevator connects the home’s levels.
  • A home theater is part of the entertainment-focused lower level.
  • The lower level also includes a wine cellar, cigar room and wet bar lined with onyx.
  • Oversized glass doors open onto a loggia with built-in heaters.

A 2021 Realtor.com summary adds a 1,500-bottle wine cellar, gym, wine and cigar lounge, bar, marble patios and an outdoor kitchen. Those are details from later secondary coverage, rather than the Times’s contemporaneous account.

Kitchen and wellness features

The custom kitchen was reported to include a La Cornue range. The home’s spa was described as having a steam room, sauna and massage room.

Outdoor areas

The grounds include a swimming pool and spa. MyDomaine, drawing on Trulia listing material, also describes a rooftop terrace, guest quarters, marble surfaces, natural French oak floors sourced from Spain and a neutral interior palette.

How large is the house, and how many bedrooms and bathrooms?

The 2017 Los Angeles Times report gives the mansion’s interior area as 15,846 square feet, with eight bedrooms and 9.5 bathrooms. Later coverage does not match that bathroom figure: Architectural Digest’s July 2026 overview and MyDomaine both report 11 bathrooms. The available accounts do not establish why the counts differ, so the figures should not be combined or treated as a resolved specification.

Why do reports give different purchase prices?

The contemporaneous Los Angeles Times report puts the 2017 purchase price at $23 million. Architectural Digest’s July 2026 overview gives $23.5 million. Since the two accounts conflict, $23 million is the figure in the 2017 transaction report; $23.5 million is a later account, not a correction supported by the material available here.

Is this still James’s primary residence?

Architectural Digest calls the property James’s primary residence in its 2026 portfolio overview, but that is a secondary report. The reviewed evidence does not conclusively establish current ownership or occupancy through a current public record or direct confirmation.

What the reported price and features do—and do not—tell us

The $23 million figure describes the reported 2017 transaction for this particular property; it is not a current valuation or a measure of typical Los Angeles construction costs. The reported amenities describe a high-end private home, not a publicly documented construction specification. The source accounts do not establish the cost, brands or installation details for most of the house’s systems and finishes, beyond the Times’s mention of the La Cornue range and onyx-lined bar.
