The $4.7 million figure associated with Catherine Zeta-Jones and Michael Douglas’ New York home is a dated media-reported value for their Georgian-style estate in Irvington, Westchester County—not a confirmed current appraisal. Architectural Digest reported a $4.5 million purchase in 2019, while Realtor.com reported a $12 million asking price when the property was listed in 2024. Here is what published home tours reveal about the house and its Hudson River setting.
Which New York home is this?
The home in the $4.7 million headlines is Long Meadow, an estate in Irvington on the Hudson River. Architectural Digest identified it as a three-story, 1930s Georgian-style residence and reported that the couple bought it in 2019 for $4.5 million, citing the listing description. Homes & Gardens later used the $4.7 million figure for the property in features published in 2022–2023. Those are different reports at different times and do not establish the home’s value today. Architectural Digest · Homes & Gardens
It is not the couple’s former Bedford country house. That separate Colonial property was covered in 2014 and sold in 2019; its acreage, features and asking price should not be confused with those of the Irvington estate. Architectural Digest
What the published reports say about the house
The reports give different measurements, so it is more accurate to keep each figure tied to its source than to combine them into a single specification.

| Report | Reported details |
|---|---|
| Architectural Digest, 2019 | Three-story, 1930s Georgian-style residence; 22 rooms, eight bedrooms, 10 full bathrooms and two half bathrooms, and seven fireplaces. The room count was attributed to the listing description. |
| Realtor.com, June 2024 | 1929 home with more than 11,600 square feet, eight bedrooms, 11.5 bathrooms and 12 acres. |
The construction date and room descriptions are not identical across reports, and the bathroom counts are presented differently. These are publication-reported details, not a verified current property record. Realtor.com’s 2024 account also reported a $12 million listing price; that dated listing does not establish whether the property is for sale now or who owns it. Realtor.com
Rooms and details inside Long Meadow
A distinctive entrance and dining room
Architectural Digest describes a striped foyer leading into a home with a red-lacquer dining room. Realtor.com likewise notes a long entrance gallery and red dining room, alongside glossy wood and stone floors. The repeated red-room detail stands out against the estate’s more traditional Georgian character.
A paneled library
The wood-paneled library is among the home’s defining interior spaces. Realtor.com describes it as a two-story room, while Architectural Digest includes a wood-paneled library among the home’s features. In a separate Homes & Gardens interview, Zeta-Jones described her New York library as a British-style, wood-paneled 1920s library with a spiral staircase. Homes & Gardens
A kitchen with open shelving
A Homes & Gardens kitchen feature focuses on open shelves in a monochromatic, rustic kitchen. The shelves offer both storage and display space, with decorative cast-iron oven dishes adding character. The coverage does not establish the maker or exact identity of any kitchen product. Homes & Gardens

A blue closet and leisure spaces
Another Homes & Gardens feature shows glossy dark cupboards and a blue floor, balanced with white walls. The larger home-tour accounts also describe a gym and a game room; Architectural Digest reports seven fireplaces and an indoor swimming pool, while Realtor.com characterizes the pool as heated. Homes & Gardens
The grounds face the Hudson
Realtor.com reports that the estate occupies 12 acres and has river frontage. Architectural Digest describes a stone terrace with an outdoor kitchen, and Homes & Gardens’ patio feature shows symmetrical paving, lawn, woodland, Hudson views and a balcony with cast-iron railings. Together, the reported indoor and outdoor amenities make the river-facing grounds a central part of the property’s appeal. Homes & Gardens
Rank #4
Homes & Gardens reproduced a caption Zeta-Jones posted with a snowfall view of the patio: “When ‘OCD’ is in perfect harmony. The snow flurries rest around my patio slabs in just the right place, ahhhh.” It was an Instagram caption, not an interview statement.

| Figure | What it refers to | Source and date |
|---|---|---|
| $4.5 million | Reported purchase price for the Irvington estate | Architectural Digest, 2019 |
| $4.7 million | Media-reported value used in coverage of the home | Homes & Gardens, 2022–2023 |
| $12 million | Reported asking price when the estate was listed | Realtor.com, June 2024 |
A purchase price, a publication’s reported value and a listing’s asking price describe different things. None alone establishes a current market valuation. The available coverage also does not verify the property’s ownership or listing status as of October 5, 2026.

A home shaped by family and place
In an interview with Homes & Gardens, Zeta-Jones said: “I have been on the move since I was 15 and have lived in London, Paris, LA, New York, and Bermuda – this is why home for me is always where my family is.” It offers a personal note alongside the architectural details: the estate is presented not just as a collection of rooms and amenities, but as a family home.
