Samsung’s U.S. guidance says down and fiber-filled pillows are dry-clean only. For machine-washable cotton or linen pillows, Samsung recommends cool or warm water, mild detergent and Bedding; polyester-filled pillows call for Delicate, a small amount of detergent and an extra rinse. The washer’s available cycles vary by model.
Check the pillow label and filling first
Follow the pillow maker’s care label before choosing a washer cycle. Samsung’s U.S. pillow guidance classifies down and fiber-filled pillows as dry-clean only, while cotton or linen and polyester pillows have separate machine-washing instructions when their care labels permit it. Pillow covers can be machine-washed, subject to their own labels. Samsung’s pillow-care guidance is general advice; the pillow label takes precedence when it is more specific.
Down and fiber-filled pillows
Samsung says these pillows are dry-clean only. Air them out periodically and use a washable cover for protection; wash the cover according to its care label.
Cotton or linen pillows
For pillows labeled machine-washable, Samsung recommends washing them every three to six months or after illness. These are Samsung Electronics America’s care intervals; the page does not state a publication year. Use the Bedding cycle, cool or warm water, and mild detergent.

Polyester-filled pillows
Samsung recommends washing these once or twice a year when the cover is kept clean, except when a spill soils the pillow. These are Samsung Electronics America’s recommendations, not universal standards; the page does not state a publication year. Treat stains before washing, then use Delicate, cold or warm water, a small amount of detergent and an extra rinse.
Wash machine-safe pillows with a balanced load
Samsung recommends two pillows at a time in a large-capacity top-load washer to help balance the load. Its support guidance says, “If using a large capacity top load washer, we recommend only washing 2 pillows at a time to help keep a balanced load.” For polyester pillows, Samsung says to wash at least two in a top-loader, or hand-wash if you cannot form a balanced load.
Do not force pillows into a crowded tub. Samsung advises keeping laundry loosely piled rather than packed or pushed down; bulky items should fit without being cramped. Samsung’s loading guidance explains how to avoid overloading.
Choose the cycle available on your model
Samsung describes Bedding and Bedding Plus as cycles for bulky bedding, but cycle names and controls differ by washer. Check the control panel or the manual for your exact model before starting. Do not substitute Bedding for Delicate when washing polyester pillows according to Samsung’s instructions. Samsung’s cycle guidance explains the Bedding options.

Cotton or linen
Samsung recommends a large-capacity dryer on Low. Shake the pillows out after washing and remove them while slightly damp. Dryer balls or rings are optional and can help fluff them during drying.
Polyester-filled
Samsung recommends Low to Medium heat and says to refluff the pillows every 15 minutes. Drying may take longer than a Normal cycle. Follow the pillow care label for the appropriate heat and ensure the pillows are dry before putting them back into use.
