If your Samsung range shows Demo Mode or Test Mode and will not heat, the correct way to turn it off depends on the exact model. Find the full model number, check its Samsung manual, and use only the procedure listed for that model. The button sequences below come from model-specific Samsung Community solutions, not a universal reset.
Before you try a button sequence
Locate the complete model number on the range and match it to the model shown in the procedure. Samsung’s controls differ between models, so a sequence that works on one range may not apply to another. Check the matching user manual first; the procedures below are reported in Samsung Community discussions and should be verified against the manual for your range.
Demo Mode is intended for retail display. In the accepted solution for the NE63T811, Samsung Community states that the heating element does not operate while Demo Mode is on. That symptom can fit Demo Mode, but it does not by itself confirm that Demo Mode is the cause.

These are reported model-specific steps; they are not independently confirmed here against the manual PDFs or by hands-on testing. Do not try another model’s shortcut simply because the display or symptoms seem similar.
If the range still will not heat
- Confirm the complete model number and recheck that the procedure matches it.
- Consult the Samsung user manual for that exact model and follow its Demo Mode instructions.
- If the documented steps do not work, or the range remains unable to heat, contact Samsung support or a qualified appliance service provider rather than repeatedly trying unrelated key combinations.
A Samsung Community response for the NX58R5601SS/AA recommends service if its suggested toggle fails. That advice is specific to that model discussion; it is not a diagnosis of every range that will not heat.
