To stop cooking, press OFF/CLEAR on the Samsung NE63 electric range models covered here. Then let the cooling fan run until it stops on its own. Do not cut power during cooldown as a routine way to turn the oven off; the right controls can vary by model, so check your oven’s manual if its panel differs.
Stop the cooking program at the oven controls
- Press OFF/CLEAR. Samsung identifies this as the control for canceling oven operations on the NE63*811, NE63*611, and NE63*821 model families. The exact panel and button sequence may differ on other Samsung ovens; consult the manual for your model rather than assuming it has the same control. - Allow the cooling fan to finish. The fan may keep running after cooking is canceled while it cools the oven’s electronics. Samsung says it turns off when those components have cooled; it does not specify a fixed cooldown time. Samsung’s oven-fan troubleshooting guide explains its operation.
Do not confuse the timer with turning off the oven
The kitchen timer is separate from the cooking controls: Samsung says it does not start or stop cooking. Cook Time is a different feature that can end cooking when its programmed time expires. To cancel a cooking program already in progress, use the oven’s cancellation control, not the kitchen timer.
Why the fan may keep running after you turn off the oven
A running fan after cooking stops can be normal: it cools the electronics and should stop when they are cool. Samsung does not give a universal number of minutes for this process, so do not use a guessed wait time as the test. If the fan never turns off, or never turns on when needed, Samsung advises requesting service through its fan troubleshooting guidance.
Why you should not cut power during cooldown
Samsung UK warns owners of its built-in ovens: “Do not switch off your oven until it has fully cooled down.” Its guidance says switching off at the switch or plug while the oven is cooling could prevent proper cooling and cause overheating or damage. If the controls differ or the oven does not respond
- Check the model-specific manual for the correct cancellation control and sequence. Samsung Australia’s general oven control-panel guide also directs users to product manuals.
- If you are unsure whether cooking stopped, distinguish the cooking function from the kitchen timer; the timer alone does not cancel cooking.
- If the cooling fan never starts or never stops, request service rather than attempting an electrical repair.
