Roll the body tightly, shape the head on its own, then arrange the pieces together. If you want a simpler version, a single towel and a small rubber band can make a compact bunny shape.
Two-towel method: make a body and a separate head
This fuller design follows the body-and-head approach in a Carnival-attributed towel-animal instruction sheet and a separate Cruise Critic bunny sequence. Use an ordinary large bath towel for the body and a medium towel for the head; neither source specifies exact dimensions or fabric.
Shape the body
- Lay the large towel flat.
- Roll both long sides tightly toward the center until the rolls meet. The instruction sheet says, “Roll Tightly each side widthwise to the center.”
- Fold the rolled towel in half so the backs of the rolls meet and the four rolled ends are together.
- Hold the rolls so they do not unwind. Pull a corner from the center of each roll outward.
- Take the upper and lower corners and pull them apart to open up the body shape. Keep the rolls even as you adjust them.
Shape the head
- Fold the medium towel in half widthwise, then fold it over once more.
- Bring the two lower corners toward the center to make a triangular or kite-like shape.
- Tuck the pointed end underneath, then roll both sides inward toward the middle.
- Pull the two corners upward to make ears. Adjust the front flap to form the forehead.
- Place the head on the body and adjust the ears and front until the bunny looks balanced.
One-towel alternative: make a banded bunny
A separate, simpler design uses one square towel and a rubber band, rather than the two-towel body-and-head construction. The Smart Parenting party-decoration instructions describe this approach.
- Lay a square towel flat like a diamond and roll it toward the opposite end.
- Bend the rolled towel into an inverted V.
- Bring the ends inward and upward, then secure the middle with a small rubber band or hair tie.
- Shape the raised ends into ears.
Keep the two designs separate: the band secures the center of this single-towel version; it is not part of the two-towel body-and-head method.

Troubleshoot a bunny that will not hold its shape
- The body loosens: Re-roll both sides evenly toward the center and hold them in place while you pull the corners outward.
- The body looks flat: Make sure you pull the roll-center corners outward, then separate the upper and lower corners to open the shape.
- The head looks loose: Tuck the point underneath before rolling both sides inward, and adjust the ears after placing the head.
- The ears look uneven: Shift the two raised corners until they are balanced; use the front flap to neaten the forehead.
