Find the full model number, then use that model’s TCL manual to confirm the TV-to-bracket screw diameter and length. VESA spacing and screen size alone cannot tell you which screws to use.
What size screws fit a TCL TV mount?
The correct specification depends on the exact TV model. A screw size such as M6 × 20 mm means a metric screw with a 6 mm diameter and a 20 mm length. Follow the complete specification in your TV’s manual; a generic screw-kit label is not a substitute.
TCL manuals show substantial variation, including different lengths within a series and different screw lengths for the top and bottom rows of some TVs. These examples illustrate why you need the exact model guide; they are not a complete chart for all TCL televisions.

How do I find my TCL TV’s VESA screw size?
VESA describes the horizontal and vertical spacing between the TV’s mounting holes, in millimeters. For example, 200 × 200 mm means the holes are 200 mm apart horizontally and 200 mm apart vertically. It identifies the hole pattern—not the screw length. TCL explains this distinction in its VESA support guidance.

- Identify the full model number. Check the label on the TV or the original product information. Screen size alone is not enough to identify the required screws.
- Find the matching TCL documentation. Search TCL Support for the exact model and open its user guide or official specifications. Make sure the guide matches the model and regional variant.
- Locate the wall-mount or VESA section. Record the VESA pattern and every screw detail stated, including diameter, length, quantity, and any different lengths for top and bottom rows. Note instructions about adapters or spacers.
- Compare the manual with your mount hardware. Check that the mount supports the TV’s VESA pattern and weight, and that its kit contains the specified screws and any required spacers. If the correct dimensions are not included, obtain screws that match the manual rather than guessing.
Can I choose screws by screen size or VESA pattern?
No. Neither diagonal screen size nor VESA spacing establishes screw length. The examples above include different patterns and screw lengths across TCL models, and one model can specify different lengths for different rows. Use the exact model’s instructions for the screw dimensions.

Wall-mount kits commonly include multiple screw sizes and sometimes spacers, but you must confirm that the kit contains the exact dimensions listed for your TV. TCL’s guidance is to verify screw size and length before use. Screws supplied for a TV stand are a separate specification, as are fasteners used to attach a wall plate to the wall.

Do not use screws covering the TV’s mounting holes as mounting hardware. If screws seem too long or otherwise do not match the manual, stop rather than forcing them into the TV.

What else should I check before mounting the TV?
- Mount compatibility: Confirm the mount supports both the TV’s VESA pattern and its weight. Follow the instructions from the mount manufacturer as well as the TV guide.
- Wall attachment: TV-to-bracket screws connect the TV to the mount; separate fasteners attach the mount to the wall. Use the wall-attachment hardware and installation method specified for your mount and wall.
- Load guidance: TCL’s S446/S546/R646 guide cautions that the mount should bear at least five times the TV’s net weight. This is guidance in that manual, not a universal rating for every TCL model or mount; consult the instructions for your TV and mount.
- Screw length and warranty risk: TCL warns that “Using screws that are too long can damage internal components.” The company says damage from incorrect screws is typically not covered under warranty. See TCL’s wall-mount guidance.
