For poor construction, suspected substandard materials, or contractor delays on a Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) road, complain to the head of the district Programme Implementation Unit (PIU) or the State Quality Coordinator (SQC) of the State Rural Roads Development Agency. You can also use the OMMAS website’s Feedback menu, the Meri Sadak app, or CPGRAMS. The PMGSY worksite information board identifies the PIU address. NRIDA’s PMGSY monitoring guidance sets out these routes.
Identify the road project and the right local contact
Start with the general information board at the worksite. It identifies the executing agency, contractor, estimated cost, and intended completion time, and gives the PIU address. The district PIU head is one of the named recipients for complaints; the other local route is the SQC of the State Rural Roads Development Agency. If the board is missing or its details are unclear, use an official digital route or contact the relevant state agency rather than guessing at a contact address.
Prepare a clear, documented complaint
Explain where the problem is and what you observed. For a quality concern, identify the particular stretch and describe the defect or suspected material issue. For a delay, state the relevant dates and the completion time shown on the worksite board. These details help make the complaint understandable; NRIDA’s guidance does not prescribe a universal form or checklist.
Attach supporting documents where available. NRIDA’s PMGSY FAQ says a citizen may complain directly to the concerned SRRDA or NRRDA with proper documents. It also describes Meri Sadak as a way to provide feedback on work pace and quality and submit site photographs. Keep copies of what you send, and retain the acknowledgment or reference number issued by your chosen channel.

Choose a complaint channel

NRIDA identifies these routes but does not provide a universal, current escalation sequence or a screen-by-screen description of the online submission process. Check the live official channel and the relevant state agency for current contact details and portal instructions.
What should happen after you complain?
NRIDA says complaints are to be acknowledged and registered by the SQC. The SQC arranges an inquiry where needed, and the complainant is to be informed about action taken within 30 days. This is the stated timeframe for an update on action, not a guarantee that every issue will be resolved within 30 days. In serious cases received by the Ministry or NRIDA, National Quality Monitors may be asked to investigate.

For Meri Sadak specifically, an NRIDA Executive Committee agenda says a successful submission receives a unique feedback number that can be used to monitor its status. The same agenda describes app-feedback handling by SQC nodal officers, with interim responses within 7 days and final resolution within 60 days. Those app-process figures are distinct from the general PMGSY guidance’s 30-day period for informing complainants of action taken. The agenda reported 30,114 non-PMGSY feedback items or complaints registered through Meri Sadak by 31 March 2025 and 27,405 disposed of by that date; these dated figures do not measure outcomes for PMGSY-road complaints.
