To connect a Dyson V11 docking station, first confirm that the dock fits your V11, then mount its backplate with fixings suitable for your wall. Route and secure the charger cable in the dock casing, attach the casing to the backplate, hang the vacuum, and connect the charger to mains power. Check for hidden services before drilling and follow the installation leaflet supplied with your specific dock.
Check that the dock matches your V11
V11 vacuums come in different variants, including models with click-in or screw-in batteries and LCD or LED screens. Use Dyson’s V11 model identification and support page to identify your machine, then check the dock listing and its installation leaflet rather than assuming every dock or part fits every variant.
Dyson lists docking station part 970011-02 as a wall-mounted dock for charging and storing tools, and identifies it as compatible with Dyson V11 vacuums. Confirm compatibility for your exact machine before buying a replacement.
Choose a safe mounting location
Gather the dock, charger and installation leaflet. Before drilling, check behind the proposed mounting location for pipes, electrical wiring, cables or ductwork. Dyson’s V11 manual also advises avoiding direct sunlight and locations near heat sources such as a cooker or radiator. Refer to the leaflet for your dock’s exact assembly and drilling instructions.

Mount the backplate securely
Use wall fixings suited to the wall material and follow the dock’s supplied instructions. Do not assume fixings are included: Dyson’s replacement-dock guidance says they are not. That guidance specifies positioning the dock 1.2 m (47¼ in) above the floor so the vacuum can sit in the dock without touching the floor. Treat this as the specification for the replacement dock covered by that guidance; use the leaflet supplied with your own dock if it gives a different instruction.
Connect the charger cable to the dock
- Route the charger cable through the dock as shown in its installation leaflet.
- Position the jack plug on the front casing and keep the cable neatly behind the casing.
- Press the jack cover down to secure the plug.
- Clip the front casing onto the mounted backplate.
Dyson’s V11 docking-station installation guidance shows this cable and casing arrangement. Follow the illustrations in the leaflet for your specific dock.

Hang the vacuum and charge it
Place the V11 in the dock so it is seated securely, then plug the charger into a mains outlet and switch on the supply if needed. Dyson says, “The machine will need to be fully charged before first use.”
