Then say, “Alexa, show me Front Door,” using the camera’s name. This is an account integration—not Bluetooth pairing—and the camera must be set up and working in the Wyze app first.
Before you start
- A supported Wyze camera: Wyze maintains a current Alexa compatibility list. Its August 26, 2025 list includes Battery Cam Pro; Bulb Cam; Cam Floodlight, Floodlight Pro, and Floodlight v2; Cam OG and OG Telephoto 3x; Cam Outdoor v1 and v2; Cam Pan, Pan v2, Pan v3, and Pan v4; Cam v2, v3, v3 Pro, and v4; Video Doorbell v1, v2, and Pro; and Duo Cam Doorbell. Support can change, so check the list for your model. The original Wyze Cam v1 is not supported.
- A screen-equipped Alexa device: An Echo Show or Echo Spot can display the feed. An Echo Dot or another audio-only Echo cannot.
- Both apps and accounts: Install the latest available Wyze and Alexa apps and have access to the Wyze account that owns the camera and the Amazon account used in Alexa.
- A working camera feed: The camera must be powered on, online, and able to stream in the Wyze app before you connect it to Alexa.
If you are setting up the camera for the first time, Wyze’s app setup guidance says the phone or tablet should be on a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network during setup. Complete pairing in the Wyze app before moving to Alexa.

Set up the camera and give it a clear name
- Open the Wyze app and sign in, or create a Wyze account.
- Tap Home, then the + button in the upper-right corner, and choose Device.
- Select the appropriate camera category and model, then follow the app’s pairing and Wi-Fi instructions. Menus vary by model; for example, the Cam v3 guide uses Home → + → Device → Cameras → Wired Camera → Wyze Cam v3.
- Name the camera something short and distinct, such as Front Door, Nursery, or Garage.
- Open the camera in Wyze and confirm that its live stream loads.
Enable the Wyze skill and discover the camera
- Open the Alexa app and tap More → Skills & Games.
- Search for Wyze and open the official Wyze skill.
- Tap Enable to Use.
- Sign in with the Wyze account that owns the camera, then approve account linking and requested permissions.
- Complete Alexa’s device-discovery prompt. If asked to save permissions, do so and tap Done.
- In Alexa, check Devices or the smart-home device list to confirm the camera appears. You can assign it to a group, such as Downstairs, if that helps organize your devices.
Wyze also documents the voice request “Alexa, enable Wyze skill,” but you will generally still need the Alexa app to sign in and authorize the account. The integration depends on linking the account through the skill; it is not a direct local pairing. See Wyze’s Alexa setup instructions.

On the Echo Show, try one of these commands with the camera’s Alexa device name:

- “Alexa, show me Front Door.”
- “Alexa, show my Nursery camera.”
- “Alexa, show the Garage.”
To close the feed, say “Alexa, stop” or “Alexa, go home.” Wyze documents these commands for screen-equipped Echo devices in its voice-command guide.
What the Alexa connection can—and cannot—do
The integration is useful for bringing up a camera’s live view hands-free. It does not expose every control available in Wyze, and the stream ending after roughly 10 minutes is documented behavior.

| Task | Wyze app | Echo Show through Wyze skill |
|---|---|---|
| View one camera’s live feed | Yes | Yes, on a screen-equipped Alexa device |
| Launch a camera by voice | Not required for viewing in the app | Yes |
| Configure the camera or manage firmware | Yes | No |
| Two-way audio | Depends on camera and app features | No |
| Pan, tilt, or zoom control | Depends on camera model and app features | No |
| Show multiple live feeds at once | App features vary by device and plan | Not through this basic integration |
These differences are why Alexa is best treated as a quick viewing option, not a replacement for the Wyze app or continuous monitoring. Wyze’s setup instructions do not identify Cam Plus as a requirement for basic Alexa live viewing.
Troubleshoot problems in the order they occur
Alexa cannot find the camera
- Check Wyze’s compatibility list for the exact model.
- Open the camera in Wyze and verify the feed works and the camera is powered on.
- Make sure Alexa is linked to the Wyze account that owns the camera.
- Update the Wyze and Alexa apps, camera firmware, and Echo Show software.
- Run device discovery again from Alexa and check its Devices list.
- If the camera still does not appear, disable and re-enable the Wyze skill, sign in again, and rediscover devices.
To reset the skill in the Alexa app, go to More → Skills & Games → Wyze → Settings → Disable Skill. Then enable it again, relink the account, and repeat discovery. You can also say “Alexa, disable Wyze skill” and “Alexa, enable Wyze skill.” Disabling the skill unlinks the account, so you must authorize it again. Wyze’s Alexa troubleshooting guide recommends this reset when discovery or connection fails.

Alexa says it cannot access the camera
- Confirm the camera is online in the Wyze app and has not been turned off there.
- Check that the Echo Show has an internet connection.
- Use the camera’s exact name as it appears in Alexa’s device list.
- If you recently changed your Wyze password, relink the skill.
The wrong camera opens
Alexa uses the device name it discovered. Give each camera a unique, easy-to-say name; avoid names that sound alike, punctuation, emojis, and long phrases. Say the name shown in Alexa’s device list. If old duplicate entries remain after reconnecting the skill, remove the stale entries before testing again.
The stream is slow, unavailable, or disconnects
- Test the feed in the Wyze app. If it fails there too, start with the camera’s connection rather than Alexa.
- If the feed works in Wyze but not on the Echo Show, refresh the skill connection and run discovery again.
- Update the apps and camera firmware, then reboot the camera, Echo Show, and router.
- Improve the camera’s Wi-Fi signal or reduce network congestion. Wyze notes that low internet upload speed can contribute to slow or intermittent live streams in its connectivity troubleshooting guidance.
Initial Wyze camera setup fails
Check that your phone is connected to 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi, the network name and password are correct, and the camera is close enough to the router for setup. Follow any Bluetooth or location-permission prompt required by the app, and make sure the camera is in pairing mode. If it still will not pair, reboot the router and camera; a factory reset may be needed. Wyze’s Cam v4 setup troubleshooting covers these checks, though steps can vary by model.
