On most Samsung ranges, press Clock or the clock icon, enter the time using the number pad or directional controls, then press Clock or START/SET to save. The exact sequence depends on the control panel, so identify its controls before entering a time.
Identify your range’s control panel
Samsung ranges use several clock-setting interfaces. Match the controls you see rather than assuming every model follows the same sequence:
- Clock or clock icon with a number pad: Enter the hour and minute on the keypad.
- Clock/Setting with Up and Down buttons: Use the directional buttons to adjust the time.
- Menu or Options with a rotary Smart Dial: Choose Set time, adjust the value by turning the dial, and press it to confirm.
These are different control styles, not a complete list of every model. Samsung’s examples include number-pad instructions for the NE63*631*S*, Up/Down controls for the NE63*821***, and dial-based menus for the NE63*875*S* and NE63*871*** model families.
Set the clock on a standard control panel
- Press Clock or the clock icon.
- Enter the hour and minutes using the number pad or the Up/Down controls shown on your panel.
- If prompted, choose AM or PM. Do not add this step if your range is set to a 24-hour display.
- Press Clock or START/SET to save.
If you enter the wrong time, press Clear to restart entry on models with that control. Some panels use a long press of Clock to open Settings rather than set the time; do not hold the button for three seconds unless the manual for your model instructs you to do so. Samsung’s general procedure is intended for most ranges, and its range clock guide describes the available variations.

Set the time on a Smart Dial range
- If the screen is asleep, push or turn the dial to wake the panel. Samsung says Smart Dial sleep mode activates after two minutes of inactivity.
- Open Menu (the three-line icon) and choose Set time. On some model families, use Options instead.
- Turn the dial to enter the time, then press the dial to confirm.
To change between 12- and 24-hour time on models that offer the option, open Time format and select 12hr or 24hr. The menu label and steps can vary by model; Samsung’s instructions for the NE63*875*S* and NE63*871*** illustrate dial-based controls.
Set time on a Samsung touch-screen wall oven
This applies to the touch-screen built-in wall oven interface, not the usual freestanding-range control panel. With Wi-Fi on, open Settings → Date & Time and enable automatic setting. To enter it manually, turn off automatic Date & Time, then set the time zone, date, and time. Samsung says the wall oven’s time display turns off after one hour of inactivity. If the clock will not change or the panel looks different
- Check whether the panel expects AM/PM or uses a 24-hour format.
- Use the confirmation control specified for your panel—often Clock or START/SET on keypad models, and a press of the dial on Smart Dial models.
- Do not try an unfamiliar button combination. Find the range’s model code and use Samsung’s model-specific manual or support instructions.
Samsung says its Canada guidance applies to ranges sold in Canada and that settings may vary by country. Its general guidance also recommends checking the exact manual when the controls do not match. The Samsung Canada clock guide, updated July 2, 2026, explains the regional qualification; Samsung’s US guide provides the general range procedure. An accurate clock matters because Samsung identifies automatic functions such as delayed cooking and Sabbath mode as relying on the set time.
