The Noonee Chairless Chair is a wearable support that travels with its user, letting workers adopt a supported perched or seated posture while they work. It is designed for industrial settings where people move between standing, walking and task stations—not as a regular chair that makes every surface a safe or suitable place to sit.
What the Chairless Chair is—and how it works
The Chairless Chair is specialized workplace equipment worn on the body and connected around the user’s footwear. Its support structure can be set to hold a posture while the wearer performs a task, then adjusted to allow movement between work locations. It is intended to accompany the worker rather than remain at one workstation.
Noonee CEO and co-founder Keith Gunura described the original idea as: “We wanted the ability to sit anywhere and everywhere.” That was a 2014 explanation of the concept, not a technical promise that the device works in every setting or replaces a conventional seat (Smithsonian Magazine).
Where it may fit in construction and industrial work
The Chairless Chair 2.0 is presented for jobs that involve extended standing and frequent movement, including manufacturing, assembly and logistics. In construction or related work, that general use case may be relevant where a worker repeatedly changes position but could benefit from occasional supported posture. Suitability depends on the specific task and site; it should not be assumed suitable for work that requires unrestricted movement, climbing, kneeling, or rapid changes of position.

It is not a substitute for a standard chair, a work platform, or an anti-fatigue mat. Those products serve different purposes, and the available supplier information does not establish that the wearable support is suitable for any particular construction task.
Fit, weight limits and product details to verify
Supplier listings give a 150–200 cm user-height range. Their weight figures do not agree, so the exact Chairless Chair model and current manufacturer documentation matter before purchase or assignment to a worker.

Japan Machinery advertises a 64% reduction in leg load. The product page does not provide a test method, participant group, or independent validation for that number, so it should be understood as a distributor claim, not a guaranteed result for every worker or task.
