Honeywell’s documented QuietCare models are older products, not confirmed current buys: the HCM-6011G console humidifier and HEV355 room humidifier are both marked discontinued by Honeywell. Their official pages provide useful specifications, but not independent performance tests or evidence of current stock. If you own one, the key practical detail is to match its replacement wick to the exact model number.
Which Honeywell QuietCare humidifiers are documented?
Honeywell’s product pages describe two discontinued QuietCare cool-moisture humidifiers. They differ in format and published specifications; the available information does not establish a complete QuietCare catalog or show that either is currently sold new.
| Model | Format and status | Published specifications and features | Documented filter |
|---|---|---|---|
| HCM-6011G | Console humidifier; Honeywell marks it discontinued. | Maximum combined capacity of 3.25 gallons across dual tanks; up to 24 hours per filling on low; coverage up to 2,300 square feet; three output settings; adjustable humidistat; automatic shutoff. Honeywell also claims it operates 30% quieter than other console humidifiers. | Filter E / HC-14 |
| HEV355 | Room humidifier; Honeywell marks it discontinued. | 1.1-gallon tank; up to 24 hours per filling on low; three speed settings. Honeywell describes its wick as helping capture minerals and reduce white dust. | Not stated on the cited product page. |
All figures and feature descriptions above come from Honeywell’s product pages, which do not state a publication year. The runtime, coverage, tank capacity, and noise comparison are manufacturer claims, not independent measurements or guarantees for a particular home. The pages do not provide a controlled comparison between these models, so they do not support naming an overall performance winner. Honeywell HCM-6011G product page; Honeywell HEV355 product page.
Are QuietCare humidifiers a good choice to buy now?
The two documented QuietCare models are discontinued, and Honeywell’s pages do not confirm current retail availability. A listing for an old unit should not be treated as new or in stock without checking its condition, exact model number, and seller. The available official information also does not establish current availability or authenticity of replacement-part listings.

How do cool-moisture wicking humidifiers work?
Honeywell describes an evaporative process: water moves from the tank to a reservoir and saturates a wick; a fan draws room air through that wick, allowing water to evaporate into the air. The wick can trap minerals and help reduce white dust. Because moisture evaporates rather than being emitted as a visible plume, no visible mist alone does not show that the humidifier has stopped working. This explanation applies to the filtered evaporative design, not every type of humidifier. Honeywell cool-moisture support FAQ.

Which replacement filter fits each model?
Filter compatibility is model-specific. Honeywell specifies HC-14, also called Filter E, for the HCM-6011G. Do not substitute another filter number unless a model-specific compatibility source confirms it.
HAC-504, also identified as Filter A, is documented for the Honeywell HCM350—not as a universal QuietCare filter. Honeywell Plugged In describes the HCM350 as a separate medium-room cool-moisture humidifier with a one-gallon tank and up to 24 hours of runtime; its product page says a filter is included. Check the appliance label before buying either filter, and do not infer compatibility from the Honeywell name alone. Honeywell HCM350 product page; Honeywell HAC-504 replacement filter page.

When should you replace a Honeywell wicking filter?
Honeywell’s general cool-moisture guidance recommends replacing wicking filters every 30–60 days, depending on water quality and use. Hard water may clog a wick sooner. A hard or crusty filter, an odor, or reduced moisture output are also replacement cues. This is general support guidance, not a model-specific guarantee of filter life.
