Hoffmann Green Cement Technologies says it has renewed its strategic partnership with France’s Centre Scientifique et Technique du Bâtiment (CSTB) for three more years. The work is intended to expand the assessed applications of its 0% clinker cements, continue evaluation of H-UKR, and prepare further assessment stages for H-CLAY. The announcement describes evaluation plans, not blanket approval of every product or use.

What the renewed partnership covers

In an announcement dated 5 October 2026, Hoffmann Green said the renewed collaboration will focus on widening the application scope of its cements and documenting technical conditions that can support their use in construction projects. CSTB’s role, as described by the company, is to assess the performance and conditions of use of innovative building products and processes.

The company reports that assessment work to date has covered several construction contexts:

  • Housing applications
  • Shallow foundations
  • Superstructures
  • Demanding structures, including wind-turbine foundations

These are areas covered by evaluation work; they do not establish universal approval or suitability for every project design. The announcement does not set out a budget, quantified emissions impact, or quantified commercial outcome for the renewal.

What the next steps mean for H-UKR and H-CLAY

H-UKR: extend an existing assessment scope

Hoffmann Green reports that H-UKR received three Avis Techniques in 2025. These technical opinions were issued by the Commission chargée de formuler les Avis Techniques (CCFAT), with CSTB technical support. The renewed collaboration is intended to pursue an extension of H-UKR’s application scope, but the company has not specified the additional uses under consideration or a timetable for further assessments.

H-CLAY: prepare evaluation stages

Hoffmann Green describes H-CLAY as a technology that transforms clay at ambient temperature into a co-product intended for formulations of 0% clinker cement. The partnership renewal is to prepare the next evaluation stages for H-CLAY. It does not mean CSTB has completed an assessment of H-CLAY.

What CSTB’s involvement does—and does not—establish

Hoffmann Green’s 2021 release described CSTB as a public industrial and commercial establishment whose activities include research and expertise, assessment, testing, certification, and dissemination of knowledge. That release also said CSTB had been assessing the performance, durability, and safety of Hoffmann Green’s low-carbon cements since 2017. Those institutional details and the history are reported by Hoffmann Green; the current announcement does not provide independent performance results or a general approval covering all applications.

For construction teams, the practical distinction is between an assessment milestone and permission to use a material in any project. The reported work can help define product-specific technical frameworks and conditions of use, but project suitability still depends on the relevant product, application, design requirements, and applicable technical documentation. The 5 October 2026 announcement does not publish comparative performance figures or a list of new approved uses.
