The $118 Grillbot deal was reported on May 30, 2024; it is not evidence of a current offer. Grillbot’s manufacturer currently displays the Automatic Robot Grill Cleaner at $124.95, compared with a listed reference price of $154.95. Check the retailer’s live price, stock, shipping, and tax before buying.
What the Grillbot does
Grillbot is a rechargeable robot designed to brush cooking grates. The manufacturer says it uses three motors to move motorized brushes across the grate, with push-button controls, an LCD timer and alarm, and automatic shutoff. The base product includes nylon brushes; replacement brush types are available. These are manufacturer-described features, not independent performance test results.

The $118 price appeared in an Android Headlines deal report dated May 30, 2024, which named Amazon as the retailer and described the price as roughly $20 below the then-regular price. The manufacturer’s product page now displays $124.95 against $154.95. Retailer pricing can differ, and neither figure establishes what you will pay at checkout today.
How to use it safely
- Charge the unit for about four hours before first use, following the manufacturer’s setup guidance.
- Choose brushes suited to the grate and attach them securely.
- Make sure the grill is off, there are no direct flames, and the grate is flat and even.
- Place the robot on the grate, close the grill lid, and press the button to select a cleaning cycle.
- Stay nearby while it runs. Let the timer and alarm indicate the cycle has ended, then check the grate and remove any remaining residue manually.
- Remove the brushes and clean them according to their material-specific care instructions.
There is a meaningful inconsistency in the manufacturer’s temperature guidance: the product page mentions operation up to 250°F, while its setup and FAQ guidance specify up to 200°F and warn against direct flame. Choose brushes for the grate material

Grillbot’s manufacturer lists gas, charcoal, pellet, ceramic, infrared, and other lidded grills as compatible, but that does not mean every grate shape or condition is suitable. A level grate and a lid that encloses the robot matter. The manufacturer also cautions that repeated brushing can eventually remove some protective coating; its FAQ recommends avoiding unnecessary overuse and using degreaser when appropriate.
What it can—and cannot—clean
The robot is primarily a grate-maintenance tool. The manufacturer says it loosens grease, food residue, and buildup, and recommends regular use after grilling. It does not clean the whole grill: expect to handle the firebox, burners, grease tray, interior, and charcoal ash separately. Nor should one cycle be treated as guaranteed removal of severe, baked-on carbon. For stubborn residue, the manufacturer suggests applying a grill-safe degreaser and trying another cycle; manual wiping or scraping may still be needed.

- Check that the grill is level and the brushes are the right type if cleaning is uneven.
- Inspect brushes for wear and replace them when needed.
- If the unit will not start, check its charge and charger connection; the setup guidance says the start button is locked while it is charging.
- If it stops, check for excessive heat, an uneven surface, an obstruction, or whether it was lifted from the grate.
Is the convenience worth the price?
A manual grill brush remains the cheaper, simpler option. Grillbot’s case is convenience: it automates repetitive brushing of the grate and may be more appealing to frequent grillers or people who find hand scrubbing difficult. It still requires setup, attention to temperature and flame conditions, brush maintenance, and occasional manual follow-up, so it is not a hands-off deep-cleaning appliance.

Replacement brushes, batteries, and accessories add to ownership cost. The manufacturer lists them on its accessories page; prices and availability can change, so check the current listing before treating them as part of a budget. How often you grill and whether you need additional brush types or a case will affect the value more than the historical discount alone.

- Check carefully before buying: owners of open or uneven grills, grates with damaged or peeling coatings, and anyone unsure which brush material suits their grate.
The earlier $118 Amazon deal may not recur. Compare today’s checkout total—including shipping and tax—and review current return and warranty terms before ordering; the manufacturer’s displayed price does not establish a retailer’s terms or final price.
