What does Greenberg Traurig say the appointment adds?
The firm presents the hire as a way to strengthen its London real estate offering and complement its existing infrastructure and projects work. Its release notes that Richard Ceeney joined the London office as an Infrastructure Group shareholder in April 2025, focusing on major infrastructure and energy projects globally. This is the firm’s explanation of how the practices fit together, not independent evidence of the appointment’s market impact.
Richard A. Rosenbaum, Greenberg Traurig’s Executive Chairman, said: “Our investment in London is focused on building a platform that combines deep sector knowledge with seamless collaboration across markets and practice areas.” Fiona Adams, Executive Vice President and London office Managing Shareholder, said Patton’s arrival “continues the growth of our London office and reflects our commitment to investing in areas where we see strong client demand.” Both statements appear in the firm’s October 1, 2026 release.

Matthew Priday, London Real Estate Co-Chair, described Patton as “one of the leading construction lawyers in the London market” and said his arrival enhances the firm’s ability to support clients on complex development projects. Greenberg Traurig reports that Patton was ranked Band 3 as a Notable Practitioner in the 2026 Chambers UK Guide for Construction: Non-Contentious, with recognition for five consecutive years. The firm also says The Legal 500 2026 UK guide named him a Leading Partner in the same practice area. A client comment reproduced in the release and attributed to Chambers calls him “really pragmatic” and “really user-friendly.”

Patton serves on the Joint Contracts Tribunal drafting subcommittee and belongs to the City Property Association and the Society of Construction Law, according to Greenberg Traurig.
