Choose and measure the globe before sizing the wood
The available summary does not specify the exact glass globe for this design. A separate candy-dispenser handout from East Texas Woodturners discusses oil-lamp shades, candle chimneys, and other glass objects open at both ends as possible globes, and notes that their shapes and dimensions vary. If you are sourcing glass separately, obtain the actual piece first and measure its openings and overall shape before fitting or sizing the wooden supports. Do not assume that a globe sold for a similar dispenser will match the plan.
