The WOOD Magazine “Get-It-All Together” plan is for a wall cabinet that organizes full sheets, half and quarter sheets, sanding discs, belts, drums, and blocks in one place. Its current project page gives approximate dimensions of 28 inches wide by 21 inches high by 7 inches deep, so check the available wall clearance before committing to the build.
What the cabinet is designed to store
The cabinet groups abrasives by format rather than leaving them stacked together. The September 2005 issue description specifies pockets on the inside faces of the doors for full-size sandpaper sheets; horizontal compartments for half sheets, quarter sheets, and discs; and a bottom shelf for sanding drums, belts, and blocks. Floating dowels captured in angled slots in the case sides help keep the contents of the divider assembly flat and orderly.
That mix is useful if your shop uses several abrasive formats and you want them accessible from one cabinet. The sources describe its intended storage, but do not establish a tested capacity or compatibility with every sheet, disc, belt, or accessory size; compare the plan’s drawings and measurements with your own inventory before building.

Width and height agree, but the depth does not. If the cabinet will hang near a doorway, machine, or other obstruction, treat the figures as references rather than a substitute for the plan’s drawings and your own finished-project measurements.

Is this plan a good fit for your shop?
- Consider it if you want one buildable cabinet for multiple abrasive formats and have wall space for a cabinet roughly 28 inches wide and 21 inches high.
- Check the depth carefully if your installation has tight clearance: the current page says approximately 7 inches, while the 2005 issue text says 7¾ inches.
- Review the plan before buying materials if you need exact capacity, dimensions, or a complete material list; the summary details alone do not supply those specifications.
- Look elsewhere if you need a ready-made organizer rather than a woodworking plan, or if your inventory is limited to a format the described compartments do not address.
