MoDOT says construction of the I-70 and Route T/W interchange in Foristell is nearly complete, but the official project information reviewed does not confirm a celebration. No event date, time, venue, or speakers have been announced in those sources. The interchange is part of MoDOT’s larger Warrenton-to-Wentzville I-70 project.
Is a Foristell interchange celebration planned?
There is no confirmed celebration announcement in the MoDOT project pages and traffic notices reviewed. The headline claim should therefore be treated as unverified, not as an event announcement. A ribbon-cutting for another I-70 interchange or MoDOT project would not establish that an event is planned in Foristell.

MoDOT’s Warrenton-to-Wentzville project page describes the interchange construction as nearly complete. That status is not itself confirmation of a public event. Check MoDOT’s official project updates for any later announcement and, until one appears, do not rely on an inferred date or location.

MoDOT calls the design a “Divergabout,” combining a diverging diamond interchange with roundabouts. The project includes the interchange at I-70 and Route T/W, also referred to as Route T, in Foristell. MoDOT’s plans and construction displays page provides phasing materials and videos showing the planned work.

In a September 2025 monthly report, MoDOT explained that a Divergabout combines a diverging diamond interchange (DDI) and a roundabout, and noted that two such designs had previously been built in the Kansas City area. The design description explains the layout; it does not establish a particular safety or travel-time outcome for Foristell.
What drivers should know about construction traffic
Traffic arrangements have changed as crews shifted the interchange into its new configuration. MoDOT’s July 1, 2026 notice said northbound Route T/W traffic would move to the new eastern bridge while southbound traffic stayed on the existing bridge. It also described removal of the existing signals and stop-controlled intersections, with roundabouts operating north and south of I-70. Read the dated notice at MoDOT’s July 2026 traffic update.

A later notice described planned ramp closures beginning August 19, 2026, as work proceeded to convert the interchange to a Divergabout. Those notices describe specific construction phases, not guaranteed current routing. For a trip, use MoDOT’s current traffic map and latest project alert rather than treating either older notice as live directions. The newer “nearly complete” wording indicates progress beyond the earlier fall 2026 schedule, but MoDOT’s reviewed page does not specify the day the Foristell interchange will be finished.

How the interchange fits the wider I-70 work
Foristell is one element of the Warrenton-to-Wentzville project. MoDOT describes that corridor effort as adding a third lane in each direction on I-70 from Warrenton to I-64 in Wentzville, replacing existing I-70 lanes with full-depth concrete pavement, and making other interchange and outer-road improvements.
The statewide third-lane program is broader still: MoDOT’s 2026 release describes nearly 200 miles of I-70 improvements from Blue Springs to Wentzville and says Missouri’s FY2024 budget provided $2.8 billion in General Revenue for adding a third lane across the state. Neither the mileage nor the funding figure is a Foristell-only measure or interchange price. The Foristell interchange’s standalone cost is not stated in the cited material. MoDOT’s September 2025 report on the project is available as a PDF.
