The Fire Maple Antarcti is a 705 g (24.9 oz) collapsible gas fire pit designed for outdoor flame ambience—not cooking or primary campsite heat. It packs to 83 × 93 mm (3.2 × 3.6 in), runs on a separately purchased EN417 threaded isobutane-propane canister, and requires a lighter or match for manual ignition. FireMaple’s product page lists these specifications and use limits.
What the Antarcti is designed to do
FireMaple describes the Antarcti as a compact fire pit for fire-watching and close-range atmosphere. It is not a cooking stove or a primary campsite heater. The manufacturer advises against cooking over it because food, grease, and sugary residue can contaminate the lava rocks and burner area.
That distinction matters when deciding whether it belongs in a pack: it provides a visible flame experience, rather than replacing a camp stove or a dependable heat source.

These are manufacturer-listed figures, not independent measurements. FireMaple does not state a publication year for the specifications on its product page.

The product page lists the pit, burner assembly, lava rocks, and carry bag in the package. It does not list fuel or a lighter as included. The Manual also reports a packed weight of 24.9 oz in an article published approximately ten months before October 8, 2026; that report is secondary context, not a controlled weight check. The Manual’s article includes a price reference that may no longer be current.
How it packs and sets up
The fire pit uses three interlocking panels and a removable burner, according to FireMaple. Its folded dimensions are compact, but its listed weight of 705 g is a meaningful pack load for an item intended primarily for ambience.

Use the manufacturer’s instructions to assemble and operate the unit. Confirm the panels and burner are correctly installed before connecting fuel or lighting it; do not improvise a setup if a part is missing or damaged.
Fuel compatibility and ignition
Use the specified canister connection
The Antarcti is specified for EN417 threaded isobutane-propane canisters. FireMaple says other valve types are not directly compatible. Fuel is a separate purchase, so check the canister’s valve before heading out rather than assuming that another camping cylinder will fit.

Bring a way to light it
Ignition is manual: bring a lighter or match. A lighter is not listed among the included items. The manufacturer’s stated fuel-consumption figure is 3.6 oz/h (102 g/h); actual operating duration will depend on the canister and conditions, and the listed figure alone does not establish a guaranteed runtime.

Where and how to use it safely
FireMaple says to use the Antarcti outdoors only, in an open, well-ventilated area. Keep it away from tents, vehicles, enclosed shelters, overhanging materials, and other combustible objects. Do not use it inside a building, tent, vehicle, or other enclosed space, and follow the product manual and applicable local fire restrictions.
- Set it on a stable, appropriate outdoor surface with clear space around and above the flame.
- Keep combustible items, including shelter fabric and overhanging branches, well away.
- Do not treat it as a cooking appliance or as a primary source of campsite heat.
- Use only the specified canister connection, and follow the manufacturer’s operating and shutdown instructions.
Is it a good fit for a backpacking trip?
The folded footprint is small, but the 705 g listed weight means this is an optional comfort or ambience item rather than an ultralight essential. It makes the most sense when a compact gas flame is valuable to the trip and the user can carry the pit, compatible fuel, and manual ignition source while maintaining a safe outdoor setup. For cooking, choose a stove designed for food preparation; for dependable warmth, do not rely on the Antarcti as a heater.
