Choose by snow, surface, and battery platform
For light, occasional snow on a modest paved area
The 40V 20-inch model is the practical starting point if your usual snowfall is light and you want a narrower, more compact machine. The cited configuration includes a 6.0 Ah battery and charger. Lowe’s says all Kobalt 40V batteries fit Kobalt 40V tools, but confirm the exact product generation and bundle contents before relying on an existing battery or buying a replacement.
For a wider path and an existing 80V battery setup
The 80V 22-inch model has a 2-inch wider listed clearing width and a higher stated ideal depth than the 40V 20-inch model. Choose it only with the cost and compatibility of its separate battery and charger in mind: the cited listing is tool-only. These specifications alone do not prove it will outperform the 40V machine in particular snow or driveway conditions.

Before ordering, verify the model number, whether the battery and charger are included, and compatibility with batteries you already own. For replacement parts, match the part to the exact snow blower model rather than relying on the Kobalt name alone. Lowe’s Q&A includes the questions “What battery is required for model KSB2280-06 Snow blower” and “Where can I get parts for a Kobalt model KSB 6080-06 snow thrower?”—a reminder to identify the precise model when seeking batteries or parts.

The Kobalt operator manual identifies model KDSB 5280-06 and provides operating and maintenance precautions. For a clogged chute, the manual warns: “Never use your hand to clean out the discharge chute.” Turn the machine off, wait for the impeller blades to stop, and use a clean-out tool. The manual also says to replace a damaged belt or scraper. Read the manual for your exact model before operation; a manual for another model may not match your machine.
