Announced on March 31, 2026, it is a wireless indoor/outdoor camera that can be placed on a surface, attached magnetically, strapped to a post or tree, or permanently screwed into position. Its core local recording does not require a monthly subscription—but the microSD card is not included, and optional cloud, monitoring, HomeBase Mini, and accessory costs can still apply.
That makes the C35 a promising DIY option for homeowners and renters who want flexible mounting and predictable running costs. “Installs in seconds,” however, mainly describes the physical mounting process. Charging, app setup, Wi-Fi pairing, storage configuration, camera positioning, and testing take longer.

What is the EufyCam C35?
The eufyCam C35 is part of Eufy’s 2026 C-Series launch, announced alongside the eufyCam C37 and Wired Cam C31. Eufy advertises the C35 for indoor and outdoor use, with an IP67 weather-resistance rating. Listed features include:

- Alexa and Google Assistant compatibility

These are manufacturer-stated capabilities, not independent test results. Detection accuracy, night-image quality, battery endurance, and notification reliability will vary with lighting, camera position, Wi-Fi quality, weather, and other conditions.
How fast is installation in real life?
The C35 offers four mounting approaches. Each suits a different type of installation:

For the absolute quickest setup, place the camera on a stable, elevated flat surface. Outdoors, a magnetic or strap mount can be fast if the surface supports it and the camera cannot be knocked down or easily stolen.
A screw installation is more secure and permanent, but it is not tool-free. You may need to drill into an appropriate structure, use suitable fixings, and consider how the mounting point will handle rain and cable or charging access.
Eufy’s launch material describes the C35 as mountable with a strap around a pole or tree branch, magnetically, or with screws on a flat surface. The practical distinction is important: the camera may be physically positioned in seconds, but a dependable security installation takes longer.

What the quick-mount claim does not include
Before the camera can protect anything, you still need to:

- Install or update the Eufy Security app.
- Add the camera to the app and connect it to Wi-Fi.
- Insert and configure local storage if you want recorded footage.
- Choose a position with a useful field of view and reliable wireless signal.
- Set detection categories and activity zones.
- Test live view, notifications, recorded playback, two-way audio, and alarms.
So the headline is fair as a description of flexible physical mounting, but misleading if it suggests that the entire security system is operational in a few seconds.
Does the C35 really have no monthly fee?
For core local recording, a monthly subscription is not required. The C35 can record to a compatible microSD card, allowing you to retain footage without paying a recurring recording fee. Eufy promotes this local-storage approach across its security range; its broader explanations are available on the Eufy local-security page.

“No hidden monthly fees” therefore should not be read as “every Eufy feature is free forever.” The defensible version is: you do not need a monthly plan to make basic local microSD recording work. You may still pay for storage hardware, a hub, solar accessories, additional cameras, cloud storage, or monitoring.
Storage: what do you need to buy?
The C35 product listing supports a microSD card of up to 256GB. Eufy does not include the card, so buyers who want recorded events must add one to the purchase. Confirm compatibility, capacity, formatting behavior, and overwrite settings before selecting a card.
Eufy’s C-Series launch material also describes HomeBase Mini as an optional hub with expanded storage of up to 1TB, along with advanced ecosystem features. That is not the same as saying HomeBase Mini is required for every C35 installation. The product listing describes local microSD recording on the camera itself.

Local recording changes the ownership trade-off rather than eliminating cost altogether:
- You avoid a mandatory monthly recording plan.
- You purchase the storage device yourself.
- The card is a consumable device that can eventually fail.
- Frequent recording fills storage faster than motion-triggered clips.
- Footage stored only on the camera may be lost if the camera is stolen or damaged.
- A HomeBase or cloud option may improve resilience, but can add hardware or recurring costs.
Local storage also does not mean the camera works remotely without internet. The camera may continue recording locally during a connection problem, but remote viewing and push notifications depend on network and service availability.
Privacy and security considerations
Keeping recordings locally can reduce dependence on cloud storage, but it does not remove every privacy or account-security concern. The camera still connects to an app and network, and optional cloud features change where footage and related data are handled.

- Avoid pointing the camera into a neighbor’s private area or recording more public space than necessary.
- Use privacy zones where available.
- Use a strong, unique account password.
- Enable two-factor authentication if it is available for your account.
- Keep the camera firmware and Eufy Security app updated.
- Review household sharing permissions regularly.
- Secure the camera physically, particularly when using a flat surface or magnetic mount outdoors.
Local storage should not be described as proof that no data ever leaves the device unless Eufy’s current privacy documentation specifically makes that claim.
App and setup requirements
Eufy’s current C35 listing shows the following minimum app versions:

A practical C35 installation checklist
- Charge the camera before choosing its final position.
- Install or update the Eufy Security app.
- Create an Eufy account or sign in if the app requires it.
- Insert a compatible microSD card if you want local recordings.
- Add the C35 in the app.
- Connect the camera to your supported Wi-Fi network.
- Choose flat placement, magnetic mounting, a strap, or screws.
- Check the live view and adjust the angle.
- Configure motion zones and detection categories.
- Test notifications, two-way audio, alarms, and recorded playback.
- Check that the camera does not unnecessarily capture private neighboring areas.
- Note the camera’s firmware and app versions for future troubleshooting.
The exact button names and Wi-Fi-band requirements can change, so use the current C35 manual and support documentation for model-specific prompts.

Common problems to plan for
The mount is quick but not secure
A magnet may not work on a non-ferromagnetic or unstable surface. A strap can slip on a smooth, thin, or unsuitable object. Flat placement is convenient but makes the camera easier to knock over, reposition, or steal. Use screw mounting where permanence and physical security matter most.
The camera connects, but notifications are unreliable
Weak Wi-Fi, thick exterior walls, metal structures, distance, and interference can affect live view, alerts, and playback. Test the signal at the intended mounting point rather than assuming that indoor Wi-Fi coverage will extend reliably outdoors.
The camera records, but the footage is missing
Check the microSD card’s compatibility, available capacity, formatting status, and overwrite behavior. A card used for continuous or frequent recording fills faster than one used for occasional motion clips. Remember that footage stored only on the camera can disappear with the camera.
Solar support does not guarantee maintenance-free operation
An optional solar panel may reduce charging frequency, but results depend on sunlight, panel orientation, shade, weather, and seasonal conditions. It should be treated as a charging aid rather than an unconditional replacement for power planning.

Who should buy the EufyCam C35?
The C35 is a strong candidate for:

- Renters who need a removable or low-impact mounting method
- Buyers who want local recordings without a mandatory monthly plan

- Indoor/outdoor locations with dependable Wi-Fi

- Buyers who want automatic off-site backup by default

How it compares with alternatives
Ring Spotlight Cam Plus
Ring’s Spotlight Cam Plus is listed at $149.99. Ring says that without a Ring Protect subscription, users can view real-time video but cannot review or save missed recordings. Reolink Argus 4 Pro
The Reolink Argus 4 Pro is another wireless, local-storage alternative. Reolink advertises 4K video, a 180-degree field of view, microSD support up to 512GB, and no subscription fee for its local-storage model. It may suit buyers prioritizing a wider view or higher advertised resolution; the C35 may appeal more to people who prefer Eufy’s ecosystem and mounting options. Do not compare prices without checking the current product pages.
Eufy C37 and Wired Cam C31
The C37 is the more outdoor-focused member of the launch, with a detachable 3W solar panel and pan-and-tilt coverage. It is worth considering for a yard or driveway where solar placement is practical, but less so for a shaded location or a buyer wanting a small fixed camera.
The Wired Cam C31 uses wired power and was announced at a lower $59.99 launch price. It may be the better direction for a location where continuous power and lower hardware cost matter more than fast, flexible mounting. Both figures were launch prices and are not guarantees of current retail pricing.
Eufy’s separate EdgeAgent platform announcement should not be confused with the C35 itself. EdgeAgent concerns local AI across multiple devices; it is not the name of this camera.
Total ownership cost
Instead of comparing only the camera’s advertised price, budget for:
Camera or kit price + microSD card + optional HomeBase Mini + optional solar panel + any optional cloud or monitoring plan.
For a basic local-storage setup, the C35’s headline price plus a compatible card may be all that is necessary. A multi-camera household, a buyer wanting expanded hub storage, or someone who wants off-site backup will spend more.
