Verdict: The Eufy Omni E28 is a genuine 3-in-1 cleaning system, but its detachable FlexiOne cleaner—not its vacuuming—is the reason to buy it. It combines a robot vacuum, a floor-washing robot, and a portable wet spot extractor for rugs and fabric. Its mopping is impressive, while its everyday vacuuming is merely good, particularly with larger debris. At the current official US price of $1,399.99, the E28 makes the most sense for homes with pets, frequent spills, upholstery stains, or stairs—and for buyers who do not already own a portable extractor.
If you mainly want the strongest autonomous vacuum possible, have limited dock space, or already own a spot cleaner, the cheaper Eufy E25 or another robot may be better value.

What is the Eufy E28?
The Eufy Omni E28 is designed as a three-part cleaning system:
The Tool Desk
Outbyte PC Repair FREEClear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Outbyte Driver Updater FREEScan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →- a robot vacuum for routine floor cleaning;
- a robot mop with a self-cleaning HydroJet roller; and
- a detachable FlexiOne portable deep cleaner for rugs, carpets, stairs, sofas, and other fabric surfaces.
The portable cleaner is integrated into the Omni station rather than sold as a completely separate appliance. It detaches with its hose, cleaning head, and water components, then returns to the station for storage and servicing. Eufy markets it as a portable deep cleaner, but in practical terms it is best understood as a compact wet spot extractor.

- SAVE YOUR SANCTUARY: Tackle spills and pet stains while removing dander, dust, and pollen allergens.
- CLEANS MORE THAN CARPET: Spray, scrub, and suction to remove embedded dirt and stains from upholstery, car interiors, pet beds, and more.

- EASY STORAGE: Conveniently stores in small spaces - perfect for cabinets, closets, and more.
That distinction matters. Its brush head is only slightly over 3 inches wide, according to Tom’s Guide’s testing, so it is well suited to localized stains but inefficient for cleaning an entire carpet or large rug. It can reduce the number of appliances in your home, but it does not replace a full-size carpet extractor or a dry handheld vacuum.
See Eufy’s current E28 specifications and availability.
The detachable deep cleaner is the E28’s defining feature
The FlexiOne attachment is genuinely useful rather than a purely decorative add-on. It addresses messes that a robot cannot reach or should not attempt to clean: pet accidents, drink spills, food stains, sofa marks, small rug stains, and dirty stair treads.
It is especially appealing if you currently have a robot vacuum but still need to fetch a separate extractor whenever a pet has an accident or someone spills a drink. The E28 keeps the wet-cleaning tool in the same station as the robot, so there is less equipment to store and less searching when a stain appears.
What it does well
- Localized spills: The narrow head is practical for treating a stain without wetting an entire room.
- Pet messes: A portable extractor is more appropriate than sending a robot over a wet or contaminated spot.
- Upholstery: The hose and handheld head can reach sofas and fabric furniture that the robot cannot.
- Stairs: It gives the E28 a way to clean areas that remain outside the robot’s normal route.
- Small rugs: Independent testing found it effective on tested rug and fabric stains.
Tom’s Guide found the deep cleaner removed stains in its testing, but also noted that the cleaning head’s width limits it mainly to spot treatment. That means “deep cleaner” should not be interpreted as “fast whole-carpet cleaner.” For a large carpet, a conventional full-size extractor remains more practical.
What it does not replace
- a full-size carpet shampooer or extractor;
- a dry handheld vacuum for crumbs, shelves, cars, and narrow crevices;
- manual cleaning of every stair, corner, and inaccessible area; or
- the need to empty and rinse a wet-cleaning appliance after use.
The portable unit also produces noticeable noise, according to Tom’s Guide. Its wet tanks and extraction path need attention after use, and fabrics still need time to dry. The accessory is valuable because it is available and integrated—not because it eliminates the normal responsibilities of wet extraction.
Vacuuming performance: acceptable, not class-leading
Eufy lists the E28’s suction at 20,000 Pa. That is a manufacturer specification, not a direct measure of how much debris the robot collects in a real home. Independent pickup testing gives a more useful and uneven picture.
| Test | Hardwood | Low-pile carpet | Combined result |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cheerios | 55% | 35% | 45% |
| Kitty litter | 95% | 72.5% | 83.75% |
| Pet hair | 85% | 80% | 82.5% |
Tom’s Guide recorded an overall cleaning score of 70.4 and a pet-hair score of 82.5. Those results suggest that the E28 is suitable for routine dust, litter, hair, and smaller everyday debris, but less convincing when faced with large crumbs or concentrated piles of cereal.
Rank #2
- Powerful Stain Removal: Deep clean spots and stains on carpets, rugs, furniture, and auto interiors
- Extra Long Hose: No stain is out of reach with 6-ft of extended hose reach
- Portable Design: Lightweight vacuum lifts spills and accidents with ease
- Hose Cleaning Tool: Keeps vacuum fresh and always ready for use
- Compact Storage: Easily fits in a cabinet or closet for convenient storage and features a grab & go handle
The most important weakness was not simply low cereal pickup. The reviewer reported that the robot sometimes interpreted groups of Cheerios as obstacles and avoided them instead of vacuuming them. That can matter in homes with children, frequent meals near the living room, or pets that scatter food.
The E28 has DuoSpiral detangling brushes, CornerRover edge cleaning, and RGB-camera-plus-LED obstacle avoidance. Those features are useful, but they do not make the robot immune to missed debris or navigation compromises. Do not assume that the 20,000 Pa rating automatically makes it one of the strongest vacuum cleaners in its price range.
Mopping is the E28’s strongest autonomous function
The E28’s HydroJet roller mop is more compelling than its vacuuming performance. The roller is cleaned in real time, then washed at the dock. The station also provides hot-air drying and automatic detergent dispensing.

Repair common Windows errors and clear accumulated junk for a smoother, more stable PC - no reinstall needed.Free scan · no reinstallIn independent testing, the E28 produced strong mopping coverage and left floors shiny without making them excessively wet. It could distinguish hard flooring from carpet and raise or lower the roller as needed. That makes it a good fit for homes with mostly hard floors and a mixture of rugs or carpeted areas.
Its core mopping functions include:
- HydroJet self-cleaning roller mopping;
- automatic roller washing at the station;
- hot-air drying;
- automatic detergent dispensing;
- carpet detection and mop lifting; and
- adjustable cleaning or water-use settings.
The dock reduces the need to remove and manually wash a conventional mop after every session. It does not mean the machine is maintenance-free: the roller, dirty-water system, sensors, tanks, and dock still need periodic inspection and cleaning.
Dock size, noise, and maintenance
The E28 reduces appliance clutter in one sense, but its all-in-one station is substantial. Eufy’s current US specifications list these dimensions:
| Component | Dimensions |
|---|---|
| Omni station | 14.63 × 19.07 × 17.29 inches |
| Robot | 12.83 × 13.72 × 4.40 inches |
| Portable deep cleaner | 8.74 × 15.26 × 10.90 inches |
Measure the intended location before buying. Allow room for the robot ramp, hose access, tank removal, and regular handling of the portable cleaner. Tom’s Guide recommended approximately 20 inches of clearance on either side of the base; that is reviewer guidance rather than a universal installation rule, but it illustrates how much open space the dock may require.
The station can be loud during self-cleaning and dust extraction. Tom’s Guide described a particularly noticeable burst of noise lasting roughly 10 seconds during dust extraction after cleaning. The portable extractor was also described as loud. In an open-plan home, near a bedroom, or beside a home office, scheduling may matter as much as cleaning performance.

Runtime and specifications
Eufy lists the following specifications for the US E28:
- Suction: 20,000 Pa.
- Runtime: up to 125 minutes for vacuum-and-mop use, or 216 minutes for vacuum-only use.
- Brushes: DuoSpiral detangling system.
- Edge cleaning: CornerRover arm.
- Obstacle avoidance: RGB camera with LED.
- Water system: 2.5-liter clean-water tank and 1.8-liter dirty-water tank.
- Dust collection: 3-liter dust bag.
- Drying: hot-air drying.
- Smart-home support: Eufy app, Alexa, Siri, Google, and Matter support listed by Eufy.
The runtime figures are standard-mode manufacturer estimates. Actual runtime will vary with suction level, mopping intensity, floor type, obstacles, and the layout of your home.

The Eufy app provides the controls most buyers will expect from a premium robot cleaner. Tom’s Guide described it as customizable, with support for up to five saved maps.
Available functions include:
- vacuum-only, mop-only, or combined cleaning;
- suction adjustment;
- room selection;
- schedules;
- map editing;
- no-go zones; and
- multiple saved maps.
Exact menu names and paths can change with app updates, so buyers should not rely on a particular label remaining identical. The more important practical qualification is that obstacle avoidance is not flawless: the E28’s caution around grouped Cheerios shows how a system designed to avoid objects can occasionally avoid debris that should have been collected.

The E25 is the clearest comparison because it isolates the E28’s main extra feature. On Eufy’s current US comparison, the E28 is listed at $1,399.99 and the E25 at $1,299.99, a $100 difference.
| Feature | E28 | E25 |
|---|---|---|
| Official US price shown by Eufy | $1,399.99 | $1,299.99 |
| Portable deep cleaner | Yes | No |
| Suction | 20,000 Pa | 20,000 Pa |
| HydroJet roller mop | Yes | Yes |
| DuoSpiral brushes | Yes | Yes |
| CornerRover arm | Yes | Yes |
| RGB camera and LED avoidance | Yes | Yes |
| Hot-air drying | Yes | Yes |
| Automatic detergent dispensing | Yes | Yes |
| Clean-water tank | 2.5 L | 2.5 L |
| Dirty-water tank | 1.8 L | 1.8 L |
| Dust bag | 3 L | 3 L |
Based on the listed features, the E28 premium is primarily paying for the portable deep cleaner—not stronger stated suction, a different mop system, larger tanks, or a more advanced listed dock.

Choose the E25 when you want the same core robot-and-mop platform, already own an extractor, or rarely clean upholstery, stairs, rugs, and pet accidents. Choose the E28 when you would otherwise buy a spot extractor and expect to use it often enough to justify the additional $100. Both prices can change, so confirm the current offer before purchasing.

Does the E28 replace multiple cleaning appliances?
It can combine three recurring jobs in one system: routine vacuuming, automated hard-floor washing, and occasional wet spot extraction. That can reduce manual work and eliminate the need to store a separate small spot cleaner.
It does not replace every cleaning tool. You will still want a conventional vacuum or handheld vacuum for stairs, tight corners, shelves, inaccessible areas, and large debris that the robot misses. You may still need a full-size carpet extractor for whole-room carpet cleaning. The station itself is also large, so the appliance count goes down while the required dock footprint goes up.
The best description is therefore labor-saving multitool, not complete home-cleaning replacement.

Buy the E28 if:
- You regularly deal with pet accidents, food spills, or drink stains.
- You need a tool for sofas, rugs, upholstery, or stairs.
- You do not already own a portable carpet or upholstery extractor.
- You want automated mop washing, drying, detergent dispensing, and dust collection.
- Your home has enough space for the large Omni station.
- You value integrated convenience more than class-leading pickup of large debris.
- The portable cleaner would be used frequently enough to justify its premium.
Choose the E25 if:
- You want the same listed core robot and mopping platform without the portable cleaner.
- You already own a good spot extractor.
- You rarely clean rugs, upholstery, stairs, or pet accidents.
- You would rather save the E28’s current $100 price difference.
Choose a different robot if:
- Your priority is maximum debris pickup, especially for cereal or large crumbs.
- Your home regularly has toys, food piles, or other objects on the floor.
- You need especially reliable obstacle handling.
- You have limited space for a tall, deep dock.
- Low noise is more important than integrated wet extraction.
- You do not need a portable spot cleaner.
Final verdict
The Eufy E28 is worth considering because its detachable FlexiOne cleaner solves a real problem. It is a convenient spot extractor for pet accidents, spills, upholstery, rugs, and stairs, and it is integrated into a strong automated mopping system.
However, the E28 is not the best choice simply because it claims 20,000 Pa of suction. Independent testing found routine vacuuming adequate but uneven, with especially weak cereal pickup and instances where large debris was treated as an obstacle. The mop is the stronger autonomous feature, while the portable cleaner is the feature that most clearly separates the E28 from the E25.
Buy the E28 if you will use the portable extractor regularly and want excellent automated mopping. Choose the E25 if you only need the robot-and-mop platform. If you mainly want superior vacuum pickup, a smaller dock, or a quieter system, look beyond the E28—or buy a robot and a separate extractor that each do their narrower jobs better.
