Xiaomi has launched the Mijia Constant Temperature Electric Kettle 3 in China. Model MJHWSH04YM offers a 1.7-liter capacity, 1,800W heating, four preset temperatures, a digital handle display and claimed keep-warm operation for up to 24 hours. Its reported China launch price was 169 yuan.
This is a China-market launch, not a confirmed global or U.S. release. The available evidence also does not confirm Wi-Fi, Bluetooth or Mi Home app control, so it is more accurate to describe the appliance as a temperature-control kettle than a connected smart-home device.

The Kettle 3 provides four target temperatures:
- 45°C: warm drinking water or a temperature commonly associated with preparing formula. This is a product-use example, not medical or infant-feeding advice.
- 60°C: moderately warm drinks such as honey water.
- 70°C: a lower-temperature setting often used for green tea.
- 85°C: hotter tea or coffee preparation.
The available information confirms four fixed presets, not arbitrary temperature selection between those levels. Buyers who need precise settings such as 55°C or ಿಯ 80°C should not assume the kettle can provide them.

How the design is intended to work
The kettle has a reported seamless 316L stainless-steel inner chamber, which should reduce crevices where residue and limescale can collect. Its double-wall construction combines a stainless-steel inner body with a high-temperature PP outer shell. This design is intended to reduce exterior heat, but it does not prove that every outside surface will remain safe to touch during or after heating.
A digital display in the handle shows the water temperature in real time. The lid uses one-button opening and two-stage damping: the first stage is designed to release steam more cautiously, while the wider opening should make filling and cleaning easier.
Keep-warm operation and safety
Xiaomi’s product materials describe up to 24 hours of quiet or low-noise keep-warm operation. This means the kettle uses power to maintain water temperature; it is not the same as retaining heat for 24 hours without electricity. The sources also do not establish the exact temperature, ambient conditions or energy consumption used for that claim.

Reported protections include automatic shutoff after boiling, dry-boil protection, lid-lock protection and thermostat-based temperature control. Product materials reportedly claim that the thermostat was tested for more than 10,000 uses. That figure should be treated as a manufacturer or listing claim rather than independent durability testing.
The tap-water and purified-water modes are described as adjusting the heating process for the selected water source. They should not be interpreted as water purification: the kettle does not remove contaminants or sterilise water.
Is the Mijia Kettle 3 a smart kettle?
Not on the evidence currently available. The Kettle 3 clearly has electronic temperature control, a digital display and automated keep-warm functions, but no reliable source confirms Mi Home connectivity, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, remote control, voice control or HyperOS integration for this model.

Xiaomi’s wider smart-home ecosystem should not be used to infer features that have not been listed for the Kettle 3.
Price, launch date and availability
Xiaomi introduced the kettle in China in late June 2025. Preorder or listing coverage appeared on June 21, with retail sale reported for June 25; English-language coverage followed on June 28. The reported launch price was 169 yuan.
That figure is a Chinese launch price, not a U.S. retail price. Importers may also pay shipping, taxes, seller markup and customs charges. The official Xiaomi global site currently surfaces a different product, the Xiaomi Double Wall Electric Kettle. Its presence does not confirm that the Mijia Kettle 3 has launched globally.

What to check before importing one
- Voltage and plug: Verify the rating label and plug standard for your country. Do not rely only on a translated marketplace title.
- Warranty: Confirm whether the seller provides usable local warranty support.
- Returns: Check who pays return shipping if the appliance is damaged or incompatible.
- Replacement parts: Ask whether lids, bases, filters, seals and other service parts are available.
- Controls: Confirm the display language and whether the product retains settings after being unplugged.
- Keep-warm behaviour: Check whether keep-warm starts after boiling, can heat directly to a selected temperature and produces an audible alert.
- Final cost: Calculate shipping, taxes, import fees and seller charges rather than comparing with 169 yuan alone.
Everyday limitations
The maximum fill line should be respected because overfilling can cause splashing or allow hot water into the steam path. Dry-boil protection is a backup, not a reason to run the kettle empty.
Hard water can create limescale, reduce heating efficiency, affect temperature sensing and alter taste. The seamless liner should make cleaning easier, but it does not eliminate the need to empty, cool and descale the kettle according to Xiaomi’s instructions. Never immerse the electrical base in water.

Who is it for?
The Kettle 3 is most compelling for households that regularly need warm water at repeatable temperatures, including tea and coffee drinkers and Xiaomi buyers in markets where the model is properly supported. Its 1.7-liter capacity, display, insulated body and keep-warm function offer more convenience than a basic boil-only kettle.
It is less attractive for someone who only boils one cup occasionally, wants freely adjustable temperatures, wants to minimise keep-warm electricity use or needs a locally warrantied appliance. A 1,800W rating confirms the heating input, but it does not establish a specific boil time for this model. Actual performance depends on water volume, starting temperature, voltage, altitude and limescale. Xiaomi’s separate official material mentioning approximately five-minute boiling relates to a different kettle and should not be treated as a Kettle 3 test.
Verdict
The Xiaomi Mijia Kettle 3 is a convenience-focused China-market kettle rather than a confirmed connected smart-home breakthrough. Its strongest features are the four preset temperatures, claimed 24-hour powered keep-warm operation, real-time display, large capacity and double-wall construction. For buyers outside China, the practical decision depends less on the 169-yuan launch price than on voltage compatibility, warranty, replacement parts and the final landed cost.
